  1. Unprepared Blues will show up unprepared and Abington will be able to win due to that unpreparedness. I know Tarter is maybe hindered with lack of talent on the field, but being unprepared is simply coaching and that's how I see this team. Whatevere it may be is far above me, but in all reality, you at least want the team to show up prepared and I'm not seeing that from Richlands. Always have been and always will be a Blues fan, but I call it like it is and this year it's not good at all. Hope all have an injury free game. Abington 24--Richlands 6
  2. Anyone on here besides me wonder why Richlands couldn't even get the first couple of plays off without calling time out, are you kidding me. Where is the coaching, once again UNPREPARED!!!! The first 10 plays should have been automatic, and you're telling me the players don't know how to line up and have to call a time out, come on guys, where's the coaching, UNPREPARED = UNCOACHED!!! Hats off to Graham, they did what they had to do to win. Another game where the Blues didn't have a total yardage of more than 100 yards in fact it was below anything ever seen in Richlands History. I like all the coaches, but something has to change and hopefully for the better, I don't think it could get much worse. Sorry for going off, but it is getting laughable.
  3. Good luck to the Bulldogs and safe travels to everyone going to the game. Hope for an injury free game and a win for Tazewell.
  4. Safe travels to everyone going to the game and hope all the players avoid injury. Graham wins no matter what Richlands looks like. Wish the Blues all the best in the world, but this is just one of those years. Hope they are somewhat better prepared in this game than they were in the Union game and the opening kickoff doesn't result in a penalty flag flying. Good luck to both teams.
  5. Not sure which team will be prepared and which one will be in the best shape, but I'll go with Central by 7.
  6. Richlands won't score, no offense, Graham will score at will, Richlands no defense, Graham 54 Richlands 0. Going to be one hard year for the Blues, just keeping it real.
  7. I will try not to be negative. That's why I have waited so long to post on this game. One word describes my thoughts, UNPREPARED!!! Union was good but not the best Union team I have seen, however they were PREPARED. Richlands has some good talent, but I'll give you a good run down. Opening kick off penalty(are you kidding) special teams UNPREPARED!!, Defense--wondering around lost and bewildered, out of position all night long--UNPREPARED!! Offence--gained less than 100yds. ( you got to be kidding) how far back in history do we have to look to see this stat on the Richlands side. UNPREPARED!! Some say you can't put it all on the coaching, (are you kidding), they are totally responsible for PREPARATION!!! Did they not even see the film, did they not know the offense package Union would bring to the game, did they not look at how Union's defence would attack, UNPREPARED!!! Hats off to Union for doing a good job of preparing their players, and sticking to the game plan. If Richlands had a game plan I did not see it. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but it seemed to me the plan was watch and learn as you play, and try not to loose to badly. This is squarely on the coaching staff because they did nothing to PREPARE their team. If half time adjustment were made, I missed them, probably "hang in there guys, do the best you can, running clock, this willl be over soon." UNPREPARED, UNPREPARED, UNPREPARED!!!!
  8. I guess a lot of people are picking Union, but I'll have to go with the "Blues" in this one by a field goal. Always seems to be one of the better games for these two teams and hopefully the TCSB regulations don't upset to many fans, this too will pass. Safe travels to all those Union fans, and hope all players have a safe game.
  9. RV wins going away, score will be what thwy want it to be. May be a good time to get younger players some experience.
  10. In later years some of the Salem players admitted they also wore the longer kleats, and after all that should have been checked by the white cap and flagged for illigal equipment, 15 yard penalty with the equipment being removed from play. That situation was far more than kleats, it was the old plough boys beating the high fashioned race horses and the VHSL was not pleased with the outcome. The Salem coach complained about the field, the fans, the RHS players, the bathrooms, the signage around the fence, the loud barking dog in the neighborhood, and how bad the lighting was on the field. You would have thought Salem had lost the super bowl, and the coach could not understand how a bunch of good old Blue clad hilbillies could best his fine oiled machine. As a Blues fan, we still hear this BS and probably will for the extent of my life and beyond. I was present for that game and loved every minute of it!!!!!
  11. Okay, I'm a true Blue fan, but don't have much faith in lady luck showing up at every game. Could Union borrow Gate City's center for the first half, please. Feel bad for the kid, but those over the head snaps were a defining moment in the game. I'll go out on the limb with this one, I'm gong Richlands 24--Union 21. Bandy kicks a 47 yard field goal on the last snap of regulation to win the game. Buckle up boys, it's going to be another fun game to watch. I'm not delusional, just old, and it could happen, you never know with these two. Hope all Union fans have safe travels, and if it's good food you want to eat, visit the Railroad Depot in the center of town. Good people.
  12. Agree totally, even a spread orientated offense has to be able to run the ball in the red zone. When Mance won the state title, Caleb Jennings was vitally important to the offense and could run through, around or over line backers in the red zone. The other years in the State finals, the run inside the red zone failed and Richlands lost. Now I know you can't attribute every loss to a failed run game, but I believe it was a bad missing element in those Mance years. Run first, pass second, and only when you have to. In 1992 this was the format for the Richlands program and it worked out, but the talent was also there, and the work ethic also. Not sure the players or coaches today have that same work ethic. IMO, unless I'm missing something, and I hate to vocalize it, but Richlands is at best a 2 & 8 team this year.
  13. I'm a true blue fan, but reality is that if RHS hasn't improved greatly on the offensive side, the results of the GC game will not be celebrated by victory. I hope I'm 100% wrong but I see GC 28--RHS 17
  14. Does anyone have a copy of that safety list? i hear it is extensive.
  15. Not familiar with this years team as much as in the past, so good question, Wo is Richlands QB this year.
  16. Who got ingured and what kind of injury? Hate to see anyone get injured in 7 on 7's.
  17. Yeah and Tom Brady is coming in from Tampa to QB. LOL You guys still have to talk about Richlands eventhough everyone receives transfers. But I gues if you shed the light on Richlands, it's from the envy side of things and you can remain in the shadows. You have got to love it!!
  18. Thanks for the info. I kinda figured that was the case, but ya never know anymore.
  19. Speaking of coaching jobs. Is Tarter staying as head coach at Richlands?? Last year we were told he would be taking that position for one year and then a decision would be made by all involved as how to move forward. Has anyone heard anyhting? I was also told that a new coach would be coming, just waiting out last year for his son to finish his QB position at his present school.
  20. Why wouldn't they go ahead and put him in the HC position. Cheeze Whiz, what are they thinking??
  21. Back to the topic: Does anyone have any word on Honaker? Have they chosen a coach yet. I may have missed it, been out of town for a while.
  22. Thanks for the information, but I do remember the trip to Halifax being a long ride, and I do remember RHS playing E.C.Glass in Roanoke back in the day. It's amasimng how things have changed through the years.
  23. Richlands traveled to Halifax County I believe in '71 or '72 for a regular season game if I'm not mistaking. That seemed like a long trip on a school bus.
  24. What about Honaker, have they hired anyone yet?
