IIRC, Richlands and Abingdon performed some impressive shows this century without the use of pop/rock. I wish I could remember any details of either show, but someone used portable, flat-panel field props.

I hate the GC band didn't arrive in time to perform, because they sounded great from the stands. Hats off to any band director that teaches the students Classic Queen songs. As far as football, I think this is a winnable game for GC. The QB-Center exchange (or lack thereof) killed nearly every drive in the first half against Marion. The second half was a different story with the Blue Devil offense looking crisp. Mack, Reed, and Tomlinson were threats to score at any time.

A player on the G.C. team is raising money this season for childhood cancer research. You callously use metastasized cancer as a metaphor to describe his Coach because you feel he's incompetent. The arrogance and sense of entitlement has gone from amusing and annoying to disturbing and reprehensible. You seem to be a bright, intelligent, and humorous guy. But spewing this vitriol about a good and decent man does not "unconditionally support the kids." It only undermines the program and teaches them to behave poorly as adults.

I think some posters may not have processed the dripping sarcasm in my previous post.

Watching from the Marion side, it was clear what was happening. The Gate City players and one assistant coach gave their all for 48 minutes. Fortunately for my Canes, Gate City's apathetic and incompetent HC called just enough miscues to thwart a miracle comeback.
