My opinion Essex had more talent but not coached well. What won RH the game today was just hard nose, smash mouth running by the backs. They would get 4 to 5 more yards than they should have. They were beasts today.

Essex defense is set up to fail before the ball is snapped. The way they have their D line. Lined up slanting inside is making it easy for RH

One of the best I ever seen on the line was Freddy Mallory from Grayson County. He graduated in 93. He was defensive player of the year in Va n 1A as defensive lineman as a Junior and Offensive Player of the year in Va 1A as a Senior as a lineman . You know they are good when a linemen is the offensive player of the year . More recent was Caleb Spurlin from Galax

Correct, they only took four teams per region back then. The three district champions and the next highest point team.four playoff games total including the state championship game. We was the one seed that year. Lost to Lebanon in the region championship game 42- 28.

I think GW is far superior but It’s according to which GE team shows up. They have been up and down all year. If the good GW shows up they win very comfortably . GW has had the easiest road to region championships of anyone in the state

Galax got the same deal. GW got the much easier road.

And the fact that most teams 2nd round games are going to be a lot tougher than the first round. Gives two days extra rest playing on Thursday instead of Saturday

Speaking to a coach from Grayson , he stated Covington was a way better team than what the score showed against them. Should be a great game. Hard ton beat the same team twice in one year.

They had been running the ball great all year until Friday night, even against GW. First play their o line got blown into the backfield. Galax front Seven played phenomenal Friday. Grayson had less than 5 yards rushing until the kid broke a long one toward end of the game when Galax was in long pass Defense. Think they ended up with 43 yards rushing.

Chilhowie went from naval to back state appearances a couple years ago to 0-10 this year .

I could be wrong but I think this one comes down to the team with the fewest mistakes. I hope Galax comes out on fire and plays a great 4 quarters of ball.

Just watched the game from last night. Galax looked the best they have looked all season. Held west stokes to 45 total offensive yards. They added several new offensive sets with different blocking schemes . Then put the freshman at QB and Cox back at receiver - result four passing TDS with two of them going to Cox. playoffs is going to fun to watch

I don’t know if GW can get up for this game like they did against Galax. GW came ready to play against Galax and played at different level than they had all year, like they was cpapable of playing. If they do they should win , but if they play like they have any game beside the Galax game then it will not be a W Grayson has not played a strong schedule although they have not struggled against those teams either.

Yeah but the teams they have played have a record of like 4-27. We will know a lot more the next two weeks

When you look through the threads a lot of people thought This was the year GW got Galax. Which to be honest a few say that every year , but a lot more than usual had made that statement this year .

They could make some noise in the semi finals as well. They just thumped what most thought was the favorite to win Region C
