  1. I agree, Eastside is 1a or b with TW being the other. Tazewell's are nice as well. I like the matte helmets the best. I think VHS would be better if they were the matte helmets that way the claws would pop more. I've always been a fan of Graham's helmets too. I'd like to see GC go back to the blue helmets as well and never wear the black jerseys with gray pants ever again.
  2. I don't follow WV high school sports so I didn't feel the need to vote on them. I'd imagine all the polls that doesn't include them are in the same boat as me. The only thing I know about them is what is written on this board. I couldn't name another high school in the whole state other than Bluefield.
  3. 1.) Bluefield 2.) Graham 3.) Ridgeview 4.) Union 5.) Chilhowie 6.) VHS 7.) Abingdon 8.) Richlands 9.) Galax 10.) Marion
  4. When the vote occurred was an Abingdon representative not present? From the article posted the principle said everything was done to try and include AHS but region trumped the district and he seemed ok with it. You do hate it for the players that worked hard and have to miss out on extra games but to jump to the conclusion that the AHS fans on here are doing is, well expected. It's rained every evening for the past 2 weeks basically and 3a moved up their region tournament but still the conspiracy that M7 didn't want to play AHS is what's being stated as the "real" reason.
  5. Thank you guys for being such a special group. You guys played the right way and earned everything you got this year. Congrats on your championship, you will forever be the first at GC. It was fun to watch and thanks for taking a whole town on the ride with you.
  6. Has Martin been offered by anybody? It would be a shame if even a NAIA or D3 hasn't offered. The kid has skills and is way good enough to be playing somewhere the next 4 years.
  7. I didn't go but watched it online, but I'll have to agree with Graham's coach on the people who oversaw the planning for that game did an outstanding job. Everything I've heard was positive. Yea more people would have went if it was in a bigger gym but that one was plenty big enough under the current format. The idea to only presale tickets was genius because you didn't have an overflow of people there that couldn't get in as well as people showing up super early while school was still in. Great job!!
  8. Hope the Spartans can pull it off to go 3-1 for the night. I don't know about Abingdon.
  9. I believe they said he was a senior. I believe Graham and GC will be in the same situation next season. The region will be their's to lose.
  10. They lost all but two starters from last season I think. Their best player is the post guy and he's tall and athletic. The length may give GC some trouble. They have speed but I don't think Radford speed. Zac and the others down low will really have to get after the rebounds. This is the stage GC has wanted to be on since day 1, I think they get revenge from last season since that's the mood they're in right now. GC wins 69-61
  11. Couldn't agree more. Graham deserved to be in the final four. Outstanding season, they just couldn't get out of their own way in the first half. Maybe some pressure had a little to do with that, they are just kids. I understand the win at wise was a shocker but that night they were hands down the better team. Luckily, GC looked to have made some adjustments tonight. What I believe the first game against Graham done for GC was make them realize they have to play D. The past two games they've played the best D they've ayed all season.
  12. GC by at least 1 is what I'm hoping for. This will be a game by two teams battling it out on the court and going toe to toe with both barely being able to stand at the end because they'll have left everything out on the floor. Graham has the game plan to beat GC, but can they do it again? Can GC make the needed adjustments to counter? For both teams sake, I'm glad the winner will have two full rest days in between their next game.
  13. This complaint doesn't surprise me coming from what I'm assuming is an Abingdon fan.
  14. It says that on GC's twitter as well.
  15. How bout Sallee and some other role players stepping up tonight!!!
  16. Not a chance. I saw where 1000 each have been sent to GC and Radford, so there is only about 1400 that will be sold at the door. The game is however being streamed on NFHS Network, but I'd assume you have to pay some kind of subscription fee.
  17. I believe Eastside, GC and Graham will win. I hope Honaker wins too but they just don't have any size. They had every chance to upset Eastside last week despite the size disadvantage however.
  18. I don't believe he did. I thought for sure it was knocked out of place the way he was rolling on the floor, kid was obviously in some pain which was tough to watch.
  19. Well, they shook hands with the Graham players, accepted their trophy for runner-up and then went to the locker room. Just because they didn't pose for a team picture doesn't mean that is classless. They didnt accomplish what they had set out to do last weekend so they didn't feel like taking a picture.
  20. Absolutely false. GC lined up and shook hands to congratulate Graham and then they got their trophy. What they didn't do was pose for a team picture like the other teams had done in the previous games. To me, there isn't anything wrong with that because that's not the trophy they are seeking. Yea winning the region would be great but luckily it doesn't mean you can't still win the state.
  21. Spot on. Hopefully GC has the chance to revenge tonight's loss.
  22. 69-58 GC. It all depends on the refs, will they let them play or call it tight? Tight calls favors GC but if they let them play it will be close.
  23. Yea, GC hasn't played a complete game in awhile. My hope is now they won't play a team they've faced anymore so maybe the unknown will wake them up a little. They are gonna be facing better teams now so it will be a lot harder to overcome any slow starts. I won't be surprised if they take it up a knotchtonight but if they continue the slow starts then expect an early exit next week.
  24. I actually agree. This will be a very physical game and mid 60s will win it. I hope the refs let the kids play and don't call it real tight. As much as Mac drives and Graham leans on their defense, strength against strength. Going to be a good one I believe.
  25. GC needs some points out of Dean going forward. Mac and Zac can't do it alone. From here on out, GC will be facing tougher competition.
