In talking with some folks at Lebanon it sounds like their numbers are down and they would be under the cap next year which was the reason for the appeal. I know 1A baseball is probably happy they lost appeal for sure.

Honaker has a very strong group of holdbacks in the 8th grade. Would have definitely helped to have a few of those kids this year

Had some opportunities to make this a closer game, but it was obvious RC was the superior team. The margin for error with Honaker this year is nonexistent-can’t win against good teams without avoiding turnovers and drops.

Lebanon has a lot more speed than people realize-they’ve got some playmakers.

The biggest improvement for Lebanon was the line play. They still struggled a bit in pass protect but in the run game they were mashing, especially late. Not sure anyone expected to see old school pioneer Power I from this team but I think John Adams smiled a bit last night wherever he was.

While there may be 54 schools in class A I can think of at least 3 of those who don’t have football or baseball. Class A really should have the most number of schools because the Council’s of the world only have a few sports they compete in.

Well they hit a home run that didn’t count, so that’s the loudest out possible.

Eastside was the 1 seed so they got to choose the venue

Seems like Va High and Graham would want to play at Lebanon too-that’s right in the middle for both of them

Honaker boys win easily, will host Wythe. VHS beat Graham on a halfcourt buzzer beater

Eastside girls over Honaker-a little surprising to me

That’s two games this year where the officials have come through for GC

Lebanon probably doesn’t belong above Graham Union or Honaker right now

I think it’s clear that Va High and GC are the class of 2D Below that you have Union, Graham and Central…Lebanon at full strength probably here but they have been sandblasted the last couple games against upper level teams.

Lebanon threw the ball a ton this year….probably more than Richlands.

Honaker girls almost beat Carroll not boys. Honaker boys are 4-4 but have played a brutal schedule.

It’s not like there’s a bunch of schools within distance of Wise, and Wise doesn’t have the draw that Bristol does in terms of hosting schools from way out of town etc. More Kentucky schools would be good, I know Letcher came a few years ago I agree that you don’t want to play a team 3-4 times a year, that’s definitely the drawback, but it’s a good chance for local kids to play in a nice facility in a tournament setting.
