Abingdon will not be a tough out for the Bears in my opinion. It will be a 3 TD win for Union. Maybe more. Abingdon has been shi*kicked by Pulaski, Richland's, and Ridgeview, the three good teams on their schedule. They didn't get beat. They got blasted. They are not a good team, period. No offense Abingdon. I still say the jury is out on Reed. I know some have said the Falcons have had major injuries and I respect and understand that, but I still smell a difference with Reed gone, which is exactly opposite to what some in the spin machine we're putting out when he left. Abingdon has NOT been the same team or program on the field since he left. Coincedence with injuries? Maybe, maybe so, but I suspect it might be the other way. I'm not sold Abingdon would have beat Richland's, Ridgeview and Union without the injuries. The margins of victories have not been exactly close. They have been absolute beat downs.

Reeds last team at Abingdon wasn't great they went 6-4 and were knocked out round 1. Reed had excellent talent in sturgill and co., Abingdon hasn't had that since. Reeds talented players made him, not the other way around. I also think Colobro was instrumental in that teams success. They were written off last season when Reed left, and Amburgey produced a good season. He's a good coach, their talent isn't the same.

Funny thing is, you got triggered initially over me asking a question about a rumor I had heard. I only stated a fact that losing 3 starters was only going to hurt a already struggling team. Ive supported the bearcats because my nephew goes to Va High, and I go to his games to support what he does with the band. I'm sorry me stating that they were bad hurt your feelings. Reed had some studs, he wasn't as good when they graduated. Abingdon isn't the same with the injuries. Maybe would have been a different game had they had Lucas. Amburgey is a good coach, they just don't have the same level of talent this year it happens.
What is your fixation with VA High? You constantly come on here and bash how bad they are. Stick with Lebanon, Pioneer Pride. Guess what, they are still better than the Pioneers. Your agenda of bashing them has gotten old. Yes, they had players quit, yes, they don’t have the same team they have had. They are playing freshman and sophomores. Abingdon has been playing better of late. They've had injuries and some inter squad issues that have been fixed. I'm expecting it to be a good game. One thing is for sure, they are battle tested after contests against Tennessee high and Pulaski. Could go either way..I'm saying Abingdon by 1 td.

I went to the Castlewood/Lebanon game, and sorry Lebanon fans, but you all just don’t have anything. Kinda reminded me of tazewell running the ball a million times and only passing like twice or maybe three. Yalls QB is like tazewells to and can’t pass to say his life expect screens. Not only that, the kids have the poorest sportsmanship I’ve ever seen. I give it to VA High 42-7
Poor sportsmanship? you don't know the kids or their situations. I could easily say things about Tazwell's athletes that I've witnessed in the past but I won't, because they are all high school kids and they do make mistakes. I assure you when our kids make those mistakes they are dealt with. Now if you are talking about late hits, or unsportsmanlike penalties, remember Lebanon is young they do stupid things that cost them, and they don't have the best fundamentals taught all the time.

At least Lebanon as the school year goes is going to enjoy more as athletic successes than Ridgeview, what else are they good at besides girls basketball and football?

Thanks for the clarification, but you know what I meant..Lebanon's last great team was 2005 where they went 10-2. In 2009 they made a nice playoff run finishing 8-5. So you are right it's been a decade. Hopefully they will get it together in a few years.
Congrats they earned it. I hope they do well the rest if the season. They found an excellent coach for their program, dont let him leave. Lebanon has a lot of work to do to get the program in a better place. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you move forward. I will be cheering the blue devils on the rest of the way, I want all our Russell County teams to do well.
Lark has something going good at Castlewood, that's a dangerous team watch out for them. Congrats again on your big win, but next year the Pioneers are going to remember tonight's loss and rebound hopefully.
I hope the Pioneers can avoid 0-10, but I don't have much faith in that hope. Both teams need the win, I think it will be close. I give the edge to Virginia High due to the Thomas kid. Whoever wants it most will get it. Should be an entertaining game. Whoever loses this game, mark it down will go 0-10, if it's my Pioneers then that just means they've hit rock bottom and the only way to move forward is up and that's okay.

My hope is that both programs get it together. Lebanon used to be a proud program a few years ago. It's sad to see them struggling, hopefully a turnaround is coming in the near future for both teams.
Sheesh Lebanon down 27 to 7 going into the 4th. Where do I start, very questionable play calling at times by the Pioneers. They've been inside the 20, 5 times and failed to score. I don't understand only needing 1 yard and throwing the ball near the goal line, only to get an interception. The team continually looks unprepared every week. Congrats to Castlewood for their first win against Lebanon since 1987, you played hard, you were prepared and you earned it. They earned the Russell county Championship tonight. I hate to say it but 0-10 is looking like reality. Its not the end of the world. At least basketball season is near and then baseball, which has a legit chance of a state title.
The Pioneers only have one way to go and that's up...forget about this one and work hard and try to get one against Virginia High, where two winless teams go at it. I have to give the edge to Virginia High in that one, i don't have faith in our play calling on Offense and Defense.
