  1. It looks like Pikeville has Jenkins on their schedule. Does a forfeited game give points? How will that factor in.
  2. I agree with you 100%. Both point are valid and make sense.
  3. My comment was meant to be sarcastic. I failed at that haha. I agree with the reasoning. Battle tested once the playoffs get here. But thanks for giving an explanation just the same.
  4. That makes more sense. Thanks for the info pal. Our boys are battle tested. That shows now based on our record and teams we’ve beat. Was hoping to camp out at the Park thru the playoffs lol. Looks like RV may have slipped one by us. Gonna be interesting to see how things shake out. Thanks again for the info.
  5. So what is the pint of playing tougher competition lol. I was sure that you got lower points for playing down. But you are on top of this stuff and I look for your posts to figure things out. Typical vhsl I guess haha. RV May stay ahead of us if this is the case with their 1a OOC. Bunch of crap lol. But if Pikeville throws like paintsville then they may be in trouble. They didn’t cover us very well. Tough task for them.
  6. Film day is going to be fun for both teams on this one. What an effort.
  7. Union should have little trouble stopping the Double Wing. Even with the lose of Reynolds, they are still fast. Gotta cover Brickey and contain qb Mullins. And Tester on any side of the ball is a handful. He’s a lot of fun to watch. Can’t let Crabtree get a seam either. With that said, Union stretches their legs and lead in the second half for the W.
  8. Unions D. Maybe the best in the region. There may be teams with a lower points allowed average, but look at their schedule. Union has grown up considerably. Cleaned up those silly penalties this week. Seems like we’re we’re picked third in the Mountain 7 and not even in talks for the Region D title. I for one thought that as well about the region. Very impressed with how players have steeped up to fill an injury void. Now, if we win out (and we should honestly), it looks like we will our point Ridgeview for the top spot and also hold the edge to the region c winner. I agree with the previous posts. After the M7 and SWD top two, the districts drop off considerably. Makes me miss the old LPD days when there were multiple state champions coming out of it in three different years. And three in one year if you include gate city who would come and go from the district. Good memories. Central Warriors. Those guys seems to be plagued with the injury bug. Year in and year out. Hate that for the kids. Devin Lester is fast fast fast as advertised. Fun to watch! Trenton Adkins running for about 6 miles at this point in the season. Wow. But what stood out in our game with RV is the speed of qb Nick Phillips. Kids got wheels too. As for the playoffs... We all know the region d is going to be fun to watch. We have some really solid teams. I have no idea how we stack up to the region c this season. I’ve not watched them play. Same with teams from the a and b. Other than reading about them, no clue. But the D is going to be a wild one. There are four teams that I feel could win it and rep us well in the playoffs. Would love to see the gmen and wolfpack play each other in a round of the playoffs. . Big and fast teams. As always, I pray for the safety of the boys on the field and the fans in their travels.
  9. Found this on that other board. They had addressed the Richlands mistake. Yet the points didnt change. not sure if this is accurate or not 1. Ridgeview (5-1) 134 22.3333 2. Union (6-1) 154 22.0000 3. Graham (4-2) 109 18.1667 4. Tazewell (4-2) 107 18.8333 5. Central (4-2) 101 16.8333 6. Richlands (3-3) 97 16.1667 7. Gate City (2-5) 106 15.1429 8. Marion (3-3) 90 15.0000 9. Battle (1-5) 71 11.8333 10. Virginia (0-6) 66 11.0000 11. Lee (0-6) 61 10.1667 12. Lebanon (0-6) 56 9.3333
  10. I had the same question in my mind haha. I typed it as it was wrote. Maybe assists or something. Like half tackles (which sounds as funny).
  11. per the Bristol Herald Mason Polier has 96 yards on 20 carries and 2 TDs. Combined with CJ Jones for 16 tackles
  12. What games have you been watching. He’s put up big games against three of the playoff bound teams, two of them being picked to win the region D (and yes, the very well still can). By anyone saying he’s the complete football player isn’t slighting anyone around. Stats don’t lie.
  13. POY discussion may be a little early. And yes, call me biased, but Mason Polier should be the clear cut leader. Stays on the field. Leads. Gives linemen a shoutout in the paper. On the field, his motor doesn’t stop. Big plays on both sides of the ball. Adkins was a near non factor. For whatever reason, he spent a lot of time on the sidelines. Saw him throwing his hands up on TFL and complaining to his team. Now, the near no factor is not a slight. He just about beat us at the end. He is a stud. Great frame. Speed speed speed. And he has a gaggle of yards. But their opponents have been iffy until now and beyond. He has great ability and potential. Mason is by far the most complete player in this area. To be a state champion in an individual sport, he is an amazing team first player. Just my two cents. On a side note, this area is blessed with some solid athletes the past few season.
  14. Per the Bristol herald. Polier finished with 240 yards and three scores on 32 carries as the Bears earned a 32-26 victory Ridgeview star running back Trenton Adkins was held to 119 yards on 23 carries.
  15. The paintsville game was an eye opener. Since the graham win, we have played uncharacteristically sloppy. With a new focus now, I feel like Union takes this one by two scores.
  16. I hope they are on the field when the team show up at The Park! As for the 730 kickoff. It kinda chaps my butt. We go to Ky and go by their time. Seems they would do the same. Oh well though. No biggie I guess.
  17. That gives a better idea of the team they are. Nice description pal.
  18. The slow your roll Comment was only an attempt to make sure it didn’t seem the conversation was going in an abrasive direction. Being sensitive? Nah. Not from talking hypothetically about high school football. Anyway, just an opinion. And 119 on 24 carries for a D1 recruit is not terrible. And you are correct, you can’t just take out a run I think we are just taking each other out of context not the intent here not trying to get into a pissing contest. About 1030pm on Oct 11 is when we will know the answers I guess.
  19. Slow down big guy. At no time was I bad mouthing him. But since your in the stat check mood, let me know how long his last td was. I was thinking 50 late in the game. Take that away and he’s setting at 69 yards on 23 carries. That’s 3 yards per carry. So yes, the Union D did keep him in check. I don’t care how old he was his freshmen year. I was stating a fact. I think you may have took my post out of context. I mentioned he was a great athlete. He’s just had less than average games against our D. Doesn’t me I think he’s trash pal. Much the opposite.
  20. This right here. His freshmen year, he was a non factor being held to less yards than his jersey number that year. Last year he was some of the same. Only had a decent run when the game was all but over. Sexton kid ran thru us. Am I bad mouthing the young man? Nope. Not at all. He’s a solid athlete. But he’s yet to show Union any of that yet. He may run a 5k on us this time lol. But I’m thinking that’s not going to happen. I can see him getting 150 yards. But I’ll be the first to say I was wrong if he shows out against us this season.
  21. Another trap game. They spread out and throw it on quick hitches. Hazard beat them last night. But hazard has a solid program. It’ll be an interesting matchup. I’m guessing Travis will take the ball control approach like with graham. Try and keep the ball out of their playmakers hands.
  22. He did. Our #21. He put in a lot of extra shots on our sideline all night. Up until he got planted and rattled. Karma is a real thing he learned. Glad he wasn’t injured.
