Probably wouldn't matter how many athletes a team has if they switch positions week after week and have no clue how to play their position. For example...Giles week one starting Defensive End is playing cornerback tonight. Rationalize that one for me?

I think this may be a blowout tonight.

If it were to happen I think Giles would win this go round.

A Giles/Narrows first round match up for the first time in history would be insane!

They also passed up a former player that is currently the Co offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Chestnut Hill College. A former Auburn player that played college football and became a college coach. He's a young coach that could probably turn the program around. Not entirely sure what they would want in a coach if that wasn't it?

That or parents don't want their little babies to play a contact sport

Been hearing Giles has talent for years and I belive they do. Maybe a lot of the issue is the offensive and defensive lines? I mean if the blocking isn't there then even the most athletic backs will have issues without good fundamental technique and blocking. Or maybe they are not being developed in the off season by not hitting the weights? Or just pure bad coaching? Something is not right.

This teams talent got wasted too. A few years ago people were high on this current class of seniors. There's a couple that started in varsity as freshman, several as sophomores, and most as juniors. This is probably the most athletic as well as experienced group that has came through Giles in years. They returned their entire backfield too and still can't win. I'm not sure how long "the talent cycle" excuse can hold up

With the talent Giles has coming up, I’m truly concerned it’s going to get wasted. To be at the top of the mountain for so many years and now be a 3 win team year after year is shameful. It’s sad that I had more fun watching the Narrows game tonight. 

I hope Giles beats the Class 2 school that cried and was allowed to stay in Class 1 by 50 points.

I frankly don't give a crap who wins....I don't like either team

The fights would be worth the price of admission alone. 

The Green Waves are coming off their first State Championship win in the VHSL Class .5A since 1939. JM was the 2022 WV Single A runner-ups.  Both are undefeated and haven’t played in several years, looking to bring the county line rivalry back. Can one man be enough for Narz to pull off a victory yet again? Will JM make a statement that Giles County football is weak? 

Narrows has never beaten James Monroe. Bad year to put them back on the schedule. Won't win this year either.

Seems like Giles has been in rebuilding for a long awhile. Used to reload and every year someone says " We will be better next year we have some athletic players coming up" It seems like this never materializes though. I hope to see Giles back atop the district and make a deep run into the playoffs but idk if that is happening anytime in the near future.

Saw some video of after the game. Narrows acting like they won the state championship or something.

Just got to cover better. We played well enough offensively to win and we'll enough defensively against the run to win. Got to be better in the secondary. It's to the point to where we just tell them, play center field. The hell with it, they are probably going to catch it, but make sure its in front of you. For the love of God, stop letting WRs get behind you. If we play Narrows again and don't lose any players to injury and the two banged up now are 100 percent, we will beat them imo. Could be wrong.

It was a hell of a game but unfortunately my Spartans came up short. Narrows won their closest thing to a state championship for the the year, just waiting for the parade. 

Good win boys. It's painful for me, but congrats. Hopefully we can run it back come playoff time.
