Analytics are getting crazy accurate these days. And it’s really helping me at the sportsbook. After the disastrous week 1 NFL (which I’ll never bet again) these types of sites get very accurate in a hurry.

Normally, I would be completely opposed to hold backs. But because of what was done to the education system the last few years, it’s not a bad idea. I still don’t like it for athletic purposes. I’m a bit surprised the school board allowed it. It wasn’t done when I went to Clintwood in the 90’s. Not sure, but I don’t think Haysi did it either.

I see Union and RV dropping. Not in 5 years but 10-15 for sure under the current system. I still believe Eastside will be closed and sent to Central, so they’ll stay Class 2 for the foreseeable future. I also would expect some consolidation of elementary and middle schools in Wise County too. Sykes is a large employer along with Walmart. Dickenson county really has nothing other than the school system and Red Onion prison. They have started the newest scam for money with the so-called industrial park at the top of Red Onion, but I fail to see anyone biting there. Call centers will be a thing of the past due to AI and work from home.

I’d say most of 2D will be dropping down at some point.

I thought Union played a good game considering the massive differences in schools. I wasn’t overly impressed with Science Hill, but I think they graduated some decent players from last year. I believe if this game was played later in the year around week 8 or 9 Union would pull it out. This is a Union team that’ll get better as the season goes on. Im excited to see them and RV play in a few weeks.

Knoxville high school football is loaded. It’s unreal how many good teams there are down there every year.

I thought the Deel kid looked good after replacing Hackney the other night.

After watching the game tonight, I’ll say first prayers to the Hackney kid. But it was right in front of where I was sitting and he was crawling and screaming in pain. RV has a good team with a QB that is getting a lot better. His accuracy has increased by a lot. The pack has a decent core of receivers and what appears to be a solid running game. The defense was lights out. 8-2 is the worse I can see this team going in the regular season and a 10-0 season is not an unrealistic hope. Especially with only 2 games that are toss ups. At Union and last game at home with Gate City.

Now that they have TV that should help with their recruiting efforts. Now all you need is to get the NIL fund up and running.

I haven’t seen them play yet. So I don’t know what to expect but will be able to say more after tomorrow night. With regards to athletes, Haysi and Clintwood always had good athletes so that is not surprising. The schedule this year is fairly weak. I think taking Bluefield off the schedule was a terrible mistake. Playing them would tell you exactly where you stood going into the playoffs.

I don't disagree with this. The RV job most likely would have been waiting for him either way once Rick Mullins retired.

I watched this game on the stream and the refs were very flag happy. I’ve never seen illegal formation called as much as it was in this game.

They are the best two teams west of I-77. That’s as far as I’d go now. Class 2 has some good teams in va, But I’ll say Graham is the favorite.

The announcers on the stream (who are rooting for the Beavers) were amazed at the penalties on the punts.
