Narrows gets a goal line stand then gets a delay of game followed by a 12 man in the huddle penalty.   At least its not on Saturdays anymore.

I don't recall who it was but someone used this game plan against Galax a few years ago.  Went for every 4th down, regardless of field position or distance as well as every kickoff being of the "on-sides" variety.  Galax set a school record for scoring and, if memory serves, knelt the 4th quarter away.
 
This occurred shortly after the ESPN story about the coach in Arkansas who has employed this concept with great success.  
 
My take-a-way was/is, as with any system, personnel matters!

Wasn't too long ago they did a home and home with Greeneville, TN.   Pretty much the same distance from Bluefield as Belfry.

I take all local stats with a not small block of salt, but assuming that 3505 yards and 53 TDs is accurate...
 
It takes 54 TDs in a single season to crack the VHSL record book.  There's a 4-way tie for 9th with 54 TDs in one season (among 7 players...Vic Hall and Craphole McTraitorface* appear twice each.  He's almost 500 yards away from qualifying for the single-season VHSL Top 10 in terms of total yards.
 
*That's the "Ron Mexico" alias of one Ronald Curry, who committed to UVA early, which caused UVA to shift its attention away from recruiting starting QB Aaron Brooks's cousin, some guy named Michael Vick.  Curry kindly switched his commitment to UNC on signing day (UNC was going to let him play basketball, too), which led to UVA starting the very forgettable Dan Ellis for the years when Curry or Vick should have been slinging the rock.  This led to consecutive 6-5 seasons, which burned out George Welsh and caused him to retire.  Pretty much, that douche-nozzle was the singular stone in the stream that altered the history of Virginia and Virginia Tech football, which were literally within 1 game of identical records in the rivalry to that point.  Hell yes, I'm bitter.

Galax probably doesn't even make the playoffs without that OL and for none of them to even get an honorable mention is ludicrous. 

These teams are always subjective. Its hard to take them seriously. Its an absolute joke that Daniel Edwards and Daniel Harrison were left out completely. Both anchored the best offensive line I have ever seen.

Ruffin McNeil a very nice get to help Biscuit get the tent set up on the in state and east coast recruiting.   Good day for the Hoos it seems.

No. TRD's first year was 1994.  1993, Giles was in the MED, Glenvar in the Pioneer and Radford in the NRD as a AA.  Also the last year of existance for the NRD.  Only had Radford, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Carroll Co. in it the last year.

I'm just hoping for repeat of the Tony Bennett hire.   An established, great coach that is a head coach already somewhere that none of us Hoo fans have gave a second thought as a candidate.  
 
Regardless of who is hired,  I firmly think that it's going to be a few years for the best case scenario of 8-9 wins per year happens.  Short of the RB's on O and LB's on D, we need a serious infusion of talent if for nothing else just to have depth.
 
Dline pass rush in the 4th quarter that last 2 years as a prime example.  Matt Johns at QB as another example.
