  1. Honaker is playing Twin Valley not Hurley!
  2. They bring all vocational students to Grundy twice a day from all county schools. Add one more bus and and they have them ALL in Grundy!
  3. Just wish Buchanan County would look at what the rest of swva has done by consolidating schools. As of today, the enrollment for the entire county for 9-12 is 870! They are spread out over the county in FOUR high schools! (with Grundy down to 430)
  4. Hurley Middle School, just like Tazewell, Richlands and Grahams totals.
  5. Mt. Mission has a one signed to WVU and one signed to Arizona State.
  6. Graham, Tazewell, Richlands, Va High, Marion, Grayson County are SWD. Everyone else go to form Highlands. What is strange is Va.High Passes by three schools (John Battle, Abingdon,Lebanon) on the way to their district games! Neither of those three wanted to come to SWD.
  7. 42-26 honaker with 3 minutes to play.
  8. 28-26 Honaker leads Twin Valley!
  9. Honaker 28-20 over Twin Valley in 3rd !
  10. Grundy, as of today enrollment is 442. Will be going to single A in next cycle.
  12. Buchanan County has roughly 890 high school students 9-12 spread out over 4 high schools. There are very few counties this side of Lynchburg that have 4 schools in their county! The ones that do are pushing anywhere from 2500 to over 3000 students in 9-12. Politics in Buchanan County continue to hold our students back. Every year, one of the county teams folds a sport in the spring due to lack of numbers, this to the blind eyes of the ones who can do something about it. Instead they have fought over a elementary school of 70 students, trying to re-open it! SMH….. No SMDH!!!!
  13. 8/28 @ Twin Valley 9/4 River View, WVA 9/11 Lebanon 9/18 @ East Ridge, KY 9/25 @ Honaker 10/2 Wise Central 10/8 Hurley 10/16 @ Richlands 10/23 Tazewell 10/30 @ Ridgeview 11/7 Open
  14. Two from Richlands Elliott, not counting Lloyd!!! Thanks for your input!
  15. I think there were two stations that carried the game! If the shoe does not fit, then do not wear it!!! The station I listened to continued with their tongue in cheek comments, if not your station, do not worry about it!
  16. You should had listened to the idiots on the radio!! They complained enough for everyone in Tazewell County!
  17. I think some of the people from Richlands have forgotten that they won a state championship with field conditions at Richlands similar to the ones last night at Grundy. Salem complained about how bad the field was after they played Richlands so much that the VHSL changed the way teams could host championship games. The fans from Richlands complained about how Salem was city folk and that was the way football should be played. How times have changed, I guess Richlands has become city folk! Not to mention this was the basis for "cleat gate". Last night, Richlands was by far a better team, and showed class by not running up the score. It is a given if you play Grundy late in the year at Grundy, the field is going to be a mess. It is called adapting to playing conditions!
  18. That's funny stuff. Was with coach Mance for an hour before game. Said it brought back the way football should be played! And there is grass on the field!! Do not try to get shit started when you have no clue!!

GMan, I thought you might like this tidbit from the radio people who carry Graham's games. They called Grundy High School on Monday of last week requesting a hook up in the press box to carry the Graham At Grundy football game on the 19th. Had to be told that Grundy was coming to Mitchell Stadium!
  20. Just some questions about this bothers me. 1. Was this act done on school grounds? 2. Did this act happen during school time? 3. Have they had their day in court? 4. Why would the school have anything to do with this, if the answer is no, to the first 3 questions? I am old school and think they should had their tails blistered along with going back to each place and replace any damages. If it were one of my sons, the school would not have to suspend him, I WOULD!! Once again the parents need to parent and not expect the school to parent for them!
  21. Score right, place wrong!!!
