With Christiansburg now a presence. To be mild. Grundy would continue dominance at the Class A level. The other sports would be more competitive and in present AA Classification. Region D qould be a good fit for all, give Va High to Region C because of I-81...The new districts would be interesting..

That was the High for Hurley basketball and the Low for Grundy basketball during the 2004-2005 season.

New coaches mean new motivation. Hurley, is building.. Time will tell for this young squad.. Honaker will mostly be seniors but learning a new system.. Also will be the case of Council. A new Era for Council bball. As far as teams replacing graduates.. Haysi will have it harder to replace Colley than TV replacing Harman... IMO the BDD goes through TV.

Sounds like CC will be subing for defense and offense.. lol... that should be interesting!! lol

The storm passes over Ernie Hicks Stadium Friday.. Leaving dry ground for the wave to churn!! Marcumm has a career night, with a young offensive line beginning to come of age. Over confidence will spoil this one for the Tornados! Reading and believing all the hype has spoiled alot of teams work ethic.. While others put their nose down and grind it everyday.. To get better.. The game will be played friday night.. If Richlands heads are in the clouds.. it will be a good thing for the wave.. Upset of the Year.. Grundy 20... Richlands 17... Peace..

Again.. a good post.. I wasnt meaning you were making any excuses, whatsoever... for what went on last night in the game.. lol... You was telling it right! The good and the bad (only good I saw was Bronson).. I wonder sometimes if the coaches are'nt trying to keep everyone happy... The QB has to throw to get his numbers.. cause he cant run it! then you have the other guys that have to have touches or they and their parents get disgruntled.. thats life and coaches have to deal with it.. Sometimes it costs the team... Now get me straight.. i'm not covering for any discisions tahts being made.. and i"m glad i'm not!! lol.. Right now i think get garon healed up.. work on tackling.. blocking.. and that will make a big difference.. Next week i'll say, "should" be a confidence builder... Then, the tests will begin...

Nice Post man... I guess you dont have anyone playing on that team(family relation) lol... It's good to see someone thats not afraid to be somewhat critical about issues that need to be addressed to make the team better. Even though your not a coach.. You can tell you know your football.. Right now, i can see why the hush hush was.. and Coach Rowe was correct in the Newspaper saying "we're not where we want to be at this Point". Garon plays with alot of heart... I think maybe they were thinking about giving him some carrys to keep it close.. but then they mighta been afraid of loosing him for the season.. i cant figure leaving him in when the game was practically over? I'm sure theres reasons for all decisions, thats why i dont get paid the big bucks or get interviewed by sports reporters!! lol All being said... again nice post! I'm also interested in hearing from Jmarcum.. He has some great analysis of the games..

You gotta remember Bristol paper serves their own.. Bluefield has their own paper.. or at least thats what Bristol is thinking.. So why not put out the BDT Fantastic 10 or 20 and do all schools thats in Tazewell, Buchanan, Russell and Dickenson.. Plus the Southern WV Counties.. lol Give Tenn High credit.. I think they will be very good.. but #1 ??? I dont know bout that! Another thought.. Maybe the Bristol paper rated teams by which communities bought the most Hearld Couriers!! lol

The revamped offense is... Baker has moved to FullBack where he is supposed to run over people this year! Nobody on the Grundy team can tackle him in practice! He's suppose to have gotten quicker and gained up to 230/240 lbs! The big secret will be out after one game. It will be obvious who besides Garon will have to be stopped! IMO.. Hazard would'a been a good one to scrimmage.. Usually they have a decent football program..If they played it that is. Watch out its friday night lights time! In Buchanan County.

He will out coach the Grundy staff! You guys that play had better flat out beat them, so theres no question at the end! Other than that it's 2 weeks till 2-Adays.. lol Other than talking about who was better last year, which can never be solved because you didnt play. Focus this year.. Who've you go that can contribute? Haysi? we know about Jones and sperrow? Grundy we know about Marcum? So, who else comes to the table to contribute this year for each team? What ya say Guys?

Hummm.. Richlands has a new one... Carroll has a new one... Grundy has a new one but with previous varsity experience... Grahams coach has 1 year under his belt.. Tazewells coach has 2 years going.. I just heard that Twin Valley played in a camp at Castlewood. They played 6 games with a tourney at the end.. Info received had them beating.. Abingdon, Castlewood, Council, Chilhowie, Patrick Henry and Abingdon again for the camp championship..

Thats kinda hard to figure!! Its always been at Grundy.. Theo Stephen and TIgh.. is it now Theo, Jimmy and Anthony!! Well i gotta feeling.. it might be all about 8 or 10 guys now!! Which will be good for the Team... best of luck and sorry about you being over looked!

I just read the Mountaineer and it had listed all those that won awards!! I congradulate all those that brought home some gold!! On the other hand... I saw where the Mullins kid on the bball team was player of the year??? Then, the question came to me.. where was Compton?? Over looked or sub par season? Or just left out of the pics in the paper?? Also, on the football side... Where was Baker.. People in Grundy were talking about him being a D1 prospect... but then no mention? or was he just left out of the pics in the paper.. maybe i missed something when i read the article.. Just thought i'd ask the questions.

My money says 5'6 and 110 lbs of roompem stompem!! lol
