  1. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] ok... so you gonna put a limit on those dumb tornado/storm warning posts when they start coming out. [/ QUOTE ] No that was done last year! And don't you think it's kind of silly to call the "Storm Warning" posts dumb when you are arguing (in multiple threads) about who sits on what side and the proper title of Beaver/Graham? [/ QUOTE ] uhhhh....it's Graham/Beaver...
  2. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] youre right..they would run right by them and not even touch them... [/ QUOTE ] That's correct Beno. You want to hear the tale about the last time Pulaski County came to Mitchell Stadium to do battle with the mighty Beavers? It was 1995 or 1996 and Bluefield was still playing in class AAA. It was a warm evening in early autum and the G-Man and I sat in for a good "Bluefield on Friday, Graham on Saturday" weekend. Then something funny happened. Pulaski's tailback Josh Calfee broke a long run for a touchdown......then another, and another, and before you know it, It dawned on me that I had been duped. The G-Man and I had payed our hard earned money to watch a damned track meet at Mitchell Staduim. "That's funny", I thought to myself, because Mitchell Stadium has no track! So the morale of the story is that the Beaver Believers don't really want their troops to wander too far down on the piedmont, or let schools of similar size come calling from "down on the flat land". They'll leave the Blacksburgs, Salems, and Pulaskis of the world to be dealt by that "other team" that calls Mitchell Stadium home. The poor ole' 19-58-2 Graham G-Men. As for the Beaver fans, "WE WANT SCOTT!.......WE WANT SCOTT!.......WE WANT SCOTT!" You are referring to 1993...PUlaski was nationally ranked that year...things sure have changed in Pulaski since then...mediocrity reigns supreme there, now... P.S. Pulaski hung 60+ that night on Beaver! [/ QUOTE ]

    who ...

Graham will finish 1st TAZEWELL will finish 2nd Richlands will finish 3rd... That's my opinion....
  4. [ QUOTE ] Carroll is replacing Floyd with Patrick County next two years. Grayson is the only A team they'll play, and that's because of the gate. Gotta build them libraries. [/ QUOTE ] If they want to build libraries, they would keep Floyd and stay away from Patrick. I have a feeling, it's to get more points. Floyd is usually much better than Patrick. It's better to beat a sorry AA team, then lose to a good A team. I think that's what they're thinking....
  5. apples are oranges too right? I have a feeling that you would disagree with anything that I say, because I'm a Graham fan. I personally like seeing guys being agressive and flying around the ball. Patrick Henry of Roanoke and William Fleming had a LOT MORE ATHLETES than Graham if that is your argument. Graham did just fine. Bluefield will be much better than either of those teams IMO, but all this crap about Graham being blown out this season is just that....crap. I'll stick to my guns, it'll be a good, close game...could go either way...and another thing...Rockbridge would be an AAA school by West Virginia standards...and a darn good AAA team in WV at that...
  6. [ QUOTE ] 1000 words?. Are you saying that was a bone crushing hit there? I don't see it. [/ QUOTE ] Anytime the defenders leave their feet like that...you can guarantee, it's a hard hit! What do I know?? I just sat and watched the whole thing...
  7. Graham was the hardest hitting team at the Grid-o-rama. Ask George Wythe's QB, who got laid out several times. Quite a few of those Rockbridge boys got laid out too.
  8. Well, there will be about 5,000 folks from Graham on that side. I am a Graham fan and have been sitting on the Graham side for 30 years...I don't care if we sit on the visitors side. Personally, I think it should've stayed the way it was...avoid confusion and conflict.
  9. Blacksburg's QB transferred....
  10. I wonder how far Bluefield will drop when they lose friday night? (just kidding...I think it will be a great game..I still think it will be close, despite what all the Bluefield folks say... Graham returns 8 on defense and most of the offense on a team that played bluefield very tight in both games...winning the first....I don't see how anybody can say it will be a blow-out. Did Bluefield get some transfers or something that I don't know about?
  11. I think a lot of people will be surprised come friday night. Rockbridge County is predicted by some to win the Valley District over TA...(the team that beat Richlands in the state title game)...Pulaski is supposed to have a mediocre team by their standards...a lot of young guys on the line.... Rockbridge was loaded with seniors. If you're basing your predictions on the scrimmages....Should be another close game...The two games last season were very close...both teams return most of their players from last season....so why all the Bluefield fans predicting a blowout??? .... makes no sense.
  12. Graham only ran a few plays in scrimmages. I have a feeling, they will open up the playbook against Bluefield. I'm sure Bluefield wasn't showing much either. Bluefield usually has more athletes and it looks like that's the case again this year. I think it will be a close game. Graham by 7....
  13. You get PAID to work games??? I have to volunteer...man, I"m going to complain to somebody....
  14. 5:45 should get you there in time to see the start of Graham's first game...I have a feeling, they'll be running behind...
  15. Kevin Yost had over 1000 yards that season (84)...averaged nearly 7 yards a carry (more than Hugh Smalls)...and was named the Region IV Player of the Year. Danny Adkins and Terry Smith combined for over 1500 yards that season......
  16. I think not...the 89 team from Graham registered 10 shutouts on the season. I don't think Cortez or Hugh would've even gotten into the endzone. The 84 Bluefield team, only beat the 84 Graham team 21-20....come on now... If it weren't for a failed 2 point conversion, Graham would have won that game...I feel Graham should have given the ball to Yost instead of Adkins on that conversion play...Yost was getting 5 or 6 yards a pop at the end...anyway, it's ancient history now.
  17. As a Graham fan... 1. Pulaski 2. Salem 3. Giles
  18. Coach Snyder himself a couple of years back said that Bradshaw was the best talent they've had there since Randy Moss and that was quoted in the papers. Sounds like envy to me. Bradshaw will have a breakout season this year, I think. He had solid seasons as a freshman and a sophomore. I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn pro one day, his size is a disadvantage however...but his heart is bigger than mosts.
  19. I've been to several Graham vs. Richlands games in the past where the Graham folks out number the Richlands folks...not last season...but in the past. Sorry, just stating what I have seen. Prog said Graham "usually" outnumbers Richlands and I agree, with maybe the exception of a few times in the 15 or so contests I have witnessed at Ernie Hicks stadiums between Graham & Richlands. And why the name calling? "Prognostifool"? that's no better than what those jerks on Va Preps do. If you want your opinion respected, don't resort to name calling...
  20. George Damon is getting some looks from some major colleges...
  21. Carper will be the main guy at Graham, not Brown. Brown has a shoulder injury and I will be surprised if he finishes the season. I hope he does, though.
  22. Graham Woodrow Wilson Mount View Fayetteville Liberty-Raleigh Richlands Christiansburg Tazewell Honaker James Monroe
  23. I'd like to see statistics for the past 20 years or so...
  24. I just wanted to know if he was related to "Phil".
  25. yes...Giles you dummy.... Only the defending state champions in Virginia...returning basically everybody except Ricky Cook....get your head out of thea hole they call Bluefield and watch some other teams in the area....I have...
