It would make entirely too much sense to do that. The consolidation talk has been going on there for as long as I can remember, and they still insist on operating 3 older school buildings in need of replacement.

You think the players on Blacksburg's team are not hurt by the comments made by people on here. I think they are, no matter who you're talking about. Just maybe they've heard about the comments or read them.

You said the words "kids from Blacksburg." I could be wrong, but I have read a grand total of zero times, any poster on this board putting down the KIDS of Blacksburg. There's a gigantic difference in the Kids at Blacksburg and the administrators/AD at Blacksburg. I've been critical of the AD/Coach/Administration of Blacksburg like a few others on here, but ain't the same as the kids/players.
Blacksburg supposedly had 40ish on their roster. Bland County played numerous games with like 14 or 15 kids. They canceled one game because they only had 11 to play. Blacksburg had 29ish out injured/sick, sure they did.
It’s a fact Jack, if Blacksburg only had 11 in soccer and the rest were injured/sick , those 11 would play the entire time before forfeiting a soccer game.
I prefer 6 playoff teams and less forfeits with some sort of system that equally focuses on the team that was forfeited on/rewards them. I don't think my logic is off here and don't think it's unreasonable to do both at the same.
As for Ryan's statement about the health of the kids first. Very valid, but what's NOT valid is the assumption that fans not in favor of a forfeit are automatically "against or not first for" the health and safety of kids, and yes Ryan didnt explicitly say that, but he implicitly inferred it. Where is the line skewed with all of this?
There is a Difference is being a bad team and about to get beat by a whole lot of points compared to Unsafe for the lesser team. Those 2 aren't the same. I live closer to Blacksburg High than I do Giles High. I know a ton of people in BBurg from school staff to a couple assistants to a couple of parents. I know for a fact, an absolute fact, thst BBurg has 20 to 23 healthy players and they absolutely do not have only 12 as claimed. It's a DAMN lie, period. They forfeited not because of it being "unsafe." They forfeited because they were going to lose by a ton of points and it's very easy to forfeit under the "heartstrings" of "player safety," when it is often not a player safety issue.
The above are my opinions with one exception, the Blacksburg healthy players thing is a fact, not opinion. They have well over 20 players healthy and the Coach, AD, and Principal of Blacksburg knows dang well that is true.

Because I've heard too much shi$ talking this year and it would be something for Giles to have one of its worst seasons in over 40-45ish years and then get a W over Narrows in the playoffs. Now, do I think we win? Likely not, but I want a shot. I'm wired that way. Lose a fight, let's do tomorrow afternoon at the sliding board again at recess.
I haven't seen Bath. I know their schedule is way weak, but I didn't think they would be 9-0. Combined record of the 9 opponents is 18-54 and 8 of the 9 have losing records with exception of P. McCluer. I have no idea who wins. I'm rooting for Narrows. I want Narrows to win and Grayson to lose. I want it to somehow work out where we play Narrows in the 1st round of the playoffs. Just glancing at Baths schedule, this might be in the top 5 of the weakest overall schedules in the State of VA this year. It's hard to play a worse schedule than this.
