  1. Rebels headed back to Richmond!
  2. In 05 they lost to Gate City in the Regional Semi's. In 04 they didnt make it out of the district. They lost to Twin Valley in the District Tourny Championship game. But at that time only the regular season and tourny champs made it. Which was Council (Regular Season) and Twin Valley (tourney).
  3. Honaker went in 2010 and lost to James River in the State Quarter Finals. Also, Haysi made a few state runs back in the late 90's with Heath Sutherland and Kory Bostic. Also, Robby Colley's teams made a run or two in the state tourney. Council's first state title game apperance they had beat Haysi in the semi's.
  4. here is the write up from the bluefield paper. http://www.bdtonline.com/localsports/local_story_052235907.html?keyword=secondarystory
  5. The last time Grundy beat Richlands was in 1996.
  6. They scrimmaged Williamson Friday night and won 21-6. Dustin Waynick caught 3 td passes from Austin.
  7. Is Garret being recruited my any local colleges?
  8. I'm sorry, I didn't know that people from other places never fight. Suggesting the tournament should be moved over a fight is crazy. Most people think the tourney is the best when it is held at Hurley because of the hospitality and plus we have one of the nicer gyms in the district, even though its not the one we use regularly. So, get over it and be ready to play!
  9. Teddy Cooper was a great man and will be missed dearly. I am proud to say that Teddy was not only a close friend to myself and my family but, also he was my brother in church. Teddy was an honarable man who would do anything for anybody at anytime. He was a pillar in our community and was a decon at our church. My Prayers are with Tiny, Mark, Chad, Connie, Austin and Tyler and the rest of the Cooper family. Teddy shared a special bond with my family as his son Mark and my brother Bill were best friends growing up and have remained close throughout the years. Bill and Mark would always tell me stories of Teddy and what kind of man he was. As I got older I got to know him pretty well and he was a great man and a very respected man. So Rest in Peace my friend, my brother, for now you are with lord and salvation is yours. You will forever have a special place in the hearts of my family, myself. and everyones life that you have touched Dustin Christian
  10. Some of the calls were questionable, both ways. The Hurley boys shot a lot of free throws, but so did Tazewell. The technicals they were givin, were deserved. It was a very closely called game where even the smallest things were called. I wouldnt say they were biased my no means. Hurley kept their composure and Tazewell didnt that was the difference in the game.
  11. Hurley over Montcalm by 1.. 64-63 I believe was the score.
  12. No, shane had around 1600 yards his senior year..
  13. Colt MCCoy has had one hell of a year, no question about that. He has been the most efficent quaterback in the country by far. But, Bradford has also put the ball in the Air more times than Colt, so naturally his completion percentage will be lower. And with as many attempts that Bradford has to only throw 7 or 8 ints is remarkable. Plus, and I know you are going to hate this, Sam Bradford is playing for the Big 12 Championship on saturday while Colt is sitting at home, which gives Bradford the advantage in the hesiman race. I dont agree with you statement that if you take Bradford away from Oklahoma they would be the same team, or if Texas Tech didnt have Harrel or Crabtree they would be the same (This weeknd against Baylor proves you wrong there, with Crabtree out most of the game and Harrel playing with two shattered fingers on his non-throwing hand). BTW, I am a Tennessee fan, dont want to be confused as a Oklahoma or a Texas fan
  14. What have you done for me lately? that is the most important question in college football. Oklahoma is Undefeated since the Red River Rivialry, not even having a close game to mention. Texas has been impressive, but that last second loss in Lubick doomed the Horns, especially when Oklahoma dominated Texas Tech the way they did. My opionion is that the BCS got it right, I believe Oklahoma should be playing for the Big 12 championship. Also. Mr. Bradford can clinch the Heisman (IMO) if the Sooners beat Missouri, which they should.
  15. Thats just stupid lol.. The JV level plays a huge role in the development of players. This is where kids as 8th graders get their first taste of what real basketball is like. To say it does not mean anything is just retarded. As far as wins and stuff of that nature it is not that important, but as far as development it means a whole hell of a lot. And as far as Hurley is concerned, this year they are very young, but also very talented. Most likely they will take their lumps this year, but as a suggestion to area teams, they better beat them this year and maybe next. Because with in two years this team will be loaded and will be one of the best teams in the area. Of course this is biased view since I am from Hurley and take it for what it is worth, but these boys are very talented and have one hell of a coach on the sideline with coach Cooper. They have all the ingridients to win, they just have to put them together...
  16. I was just wondering about stats for the Hurley team this year. How many yards do Gary and Homer have this year? As far as this game goes I think Hurley has the advantage in this one. But it is a rivilary game, and is always a close game. All records can be thrown out the window for this one. My prediction is Hurley 35 Twin Valley 18.. Take it for what its worth..
  17. I don't want to sound rude or harsh, but the score will be however bad Richlands wants it to be. Grundy is just to young and does not match up well at all with Richlands. I have seen Grundy this year and they are some bright spots for the future. I was very impressed with the young QB Jon Kelly, he has a very strong arm to be a sophmore. The freshman RB Berglow is pretty solid young back and Ben Rife is a solid young wide out. But this game should be over pretty quickly. Good luck to both teams. Hope you guys have a great game with no injuries..
  18. Wise falls today 51-40 to Lambuth.. Turnovers were the key in this game, plus lambuth was extremely big and fast. They just overwhelemed the Cavs today.
  19. 21-6 Holston over PH.. not sure how much time is left..
  20. Anyone know Hurley-Phelps score and PH-Holston?
