  1. Well, that stinks. Would love to come and support the Bears but definitely would rather not sit on the track. And I am definitely not going to sit on the Appo side lol. Just from my view from the visitors side, it looks like a ramp brings you up to the home stands. Just no room for a wheelchair to sit at the front of the bleachers? Thanks for info!! Just my 2 cents, the "grandfathered" in stuff is for the birds!!! Unfortunately it happens all over the place!
  2. Off topic question. Considering coming down for the game Saturday to support the Bears (even though you beat my BLUES twice this year) lol. For the other two games RIchlands games I have been to, I have parked right beside of the first ticket booth you come to through the concrete columns or whatever you want to call them lol. But since I am planning on sitting on Unions side, is there accessible parking on the other side that would be a better option? Also, what is the accessible seating like on the home side? Spots available for wheelchairs available beside of seats in case someone is with me? Thanks for any info!!
  3. Great game. Seems like after the Johnson fumble early in the game, they went away from him and like most have said away from the run for the most part. Mitchell is a great player and proud as a Richlands fan that we "contained" him for the most part til that 65 yard game winning td. Richlands defense was well prepared. Hats off to Union. Good luck next week. Probably the closest 8 vs 1 game you will likely see!!! Already ready for Blues 2018 season lol
  4. I am right there with you. I have no idea how many times I have watched it. Just something about it draws me to it. Matter of fact, it has been awhile since I watched it. May have to pull out the DVD over the weekend. lol
  5. Varsity Blues is awesome but I am partial to "Remember the Titans". :)
  6. (1) Bluefield (2) Union (3) Graham (4) Giles (5) Pulaski (6) Marion (7) Ridgeview (8) Virginia (9) Galax (10) Richlands (yes I am a HOMER and proud of it) lol
  7. If the young man physically feels like he can play and the doctors feel it is ok to give it a shot, I would say go for it. If he was a Junior, I would definitely not take the chance but as a Senior, you know this young man wants to be out there with his brothers. This young man was a beast in scrimmages this summer. I hope the young man gets a chance to play tomorrow night. I would think his body will tell him rather quickly whether his Achilles is ready or not. If he has been practicing, his Achilles has likely already told him whether he is ready to go or not!! From what I have seen from him on the sidelines this season, he seems to be a great team mate and always encouraging the other guys!! Best of luck to him no matter what he decides to do.
  8. Richlands defense is going to have to play a game of a lifetime to handle Union. I would rather have Mitchell at WR than to be in the backfield with having many more opportunities to touch the ball. Richlands offense needs to pick it up too. I know these boys will be ready to play. I also know Mance and company will have the best possible game plan in place to try to succeed. I am looking forward to the game this Friday. From the forecast, looks like kickoff temperature will be around 31 and feel like 24. Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! I am going to throw out a prediction and say 20-14 Richlands Is this a 7:00 kickoff just like the regular season??
  9. #11 is doing a great job at DE/OLB but I believe he has great hands and could help in the depleted WR corps as well.
  10. Definitely an option. NO disrespect to #2 but #6 seems to show a little more poise under pressure. I believe they could insert #2 somewhere in the WR corps especially with the WR injuries we have right now
  11. 1. Bluefield 2. Graham 3. Union 4. Marion 5. Giles 6. Ridgeview 7. VHS 8. Pulaski 9. Galax 10. James Monroe 10d. Richlands :)
  12. I normally have my blue tinted glasses on at all times (lol) but this game worries me. Whether we have Dan Brown and Horn on the field or not, Grahams speed is going be tough to handle. I think Richlands will hang around but Graham will pull away. It hurts my heart to say it but I will go 34-24 Graham. Looking forward to the game. Should be a great atmosphere!!!
  13. Family are the best ones to argue with!!! lol
  14. I am not an expert on numbers crunching Re: the power points, but would Richlands make the playoffs at 4&6 with a win against Lebanon and either VA High or Graham?
  15. I agree with CityofRaven, the 04 team of Richlands was very good and overlooked in this discussion. My top 5 Mance teams would be: 1. 2006 (Won State, had skill all over the field on both sides of the ball) 2. 2010 (should have won state) I know, woulda, coulda, shoulda lol 3. 2005 (McCrackens shoulder injury didn't help in the game against Turner Ashby) 4. 2016 (Appomattox buzzsaw) Side note: Mances decision to avoid OT against Stuarts Draft and go for and make 2 point conversion to Scottie Ball was the highlight of the year. 5. 2015 (Appomattox 4th quarter disaster) Feel we would have won state if we hadn't lost to Appo!!! Honorable Mention: 04 (Held our own against Salem 42-28) 14 (Devastating Overtime loss to Wilson Memorial)
  16. Congrats to the young man. The young man has skills and a lot of these D1 schools are seeing it. I understand him decommitting from Rutgers. Just having Patrick Ewing coming to your house says a whole lot about their interest. All I can say, is to do what is best for him. Good luck to the young man. You have a fan here in Richlands and will be following your career.
  17. I predict a RIchlands win. 45-13.
  18. (1) Bluefield (2) Union (3) Graham (4) Giles (5) Marion (6) Abingdon (7) James Monroe (8) RIchlands (9) Ridgeview (10) Virginia High
  19. 1. Bluefield 2. Union 3. Graham 4. Marion 5. Virginia Oh my how it pains me not to have Richlands in the top 5!!! lol. No matter the tough schedule, 1-4 record doesn't deserve top 5.
  20. I would love to give it a try. As a wheelchair user I wonder how the terrain is at Sugar Hollow park. I'm assuming a scooter would be much more advantageous for my old man arms than my manual wheelchair. Anyone played Sugar Hollow? Thoughts? Thanks
  21. I hate I am going to miss it (church functions always come first) lol But anyway. This game as a Blues fan worries me. Our team speed is down quite a bit this year to say the least. Basham exposed that last week in just one half. We all know what kind of speed Mookie has. Our front 7 is going to have to play a great game tonight. The Truck will be a load. #33 was a load from William Byrd last week but after Basham came back in, I wish #33 would have kept running lol Sorry, I seem to be jumping around here. Richlands needs to come up with a good offensive game plan. Utilize some of the other guys on offense more. #44 should be given a chance to run the ball. Who knows, maybe Mance is just waiting for the right opportunity to give it a shot. #11 has some great hands and should be targeted more. The 2nd halves of the last two games have killed us. Part of that may the fact the defense has spent a lot of time on the field the last couple of games. I am looking for it to be a great game tonight. I am going to say Blues 31-24. Are those my Blue colored glasses talking?? :) only time will tell :) GO BLUES!!
