  1. Wish I could disagree.....but I can't. Been dreading seeing this schedule for a while. Pretty much what I was afraid of.
  2. They're not absolutely horrible, no. Last year especially they had a number of good skill position guys, but they generally have no depth at all, and their line play is pretty weak at best. The Private school league that they play in is very weak as well. In WV I would probably put them on par with Parkersburg Catholic. Good solid team year in and year out, with little to no depth. Year in and year out NC would not be able to compete with solid AA teams in WV.
  3. Playing them in Football? Oh....wow. The schedule has taken a decided turn for the worse already. Yeah, it's a private school in Roanoke with 500 or so kids. But that's K-12.
  4. Overall, I think it's a very positive hire for the Cavs. His teams do tend to win ugly...but they win, and I really would expect his recruiting to improve pretty dramatically at UVA. And if I remember correctly the program he resurrected at WSU had been the worst program in the PAC-10 for a lot of years. I could be very wrong about this, but while it is a hire kind of out of left field, it could very well be a home run for UVA.
  5. How much is the tax hike?
  6. Wow....I do kind of wonder if he really understands the microscope he's gonna be under in Kentucky....especially with that contract.
  7. Who is on the other side of the bracket?
  8. Does anyone know if the Bluefield/Wyoming East game is still on for tonight at Concord?
  9. I think I'll take corrupt politicians taking advantage of incredibly complicated tax laws.
  10. No clue on whether or not this thing is gonna work or not, but as far as not reading it. I have a feeling that's nothing unusual. The last bill that was anywhere near this scope that was pushed through this way that I remember was the Patriot act bill. People had similar complaints about that one.
  11. The Cavs looked really good today. I really liked the way they attacked Clemson's press. The Landesburg kid just continues to impress. What do they have coming in next year recruit wise?
  12. Windy down here in Peterstown, but certainly no damage like that. Hope no one was hurt up that way.
  13. Wow, didn't know that at all. Thanks Observer. When did they decide to grant habeas corpus to illegals?
  14. How so? Not saying Reagan wasn't a really good President. IMO he really was. But didn't our national debt really start to skyrocket during his eight years?
  15. So, if they decided to go right now, roughly how long do you think it would take to actually start the surge?
  16. Completely within his rights, and it's pretty disgraceful that he's in a position to have to do that by himself.
  17. First off, buzzsaw, you're exactly right. The economic crisis we're in right now does have it's origins about 30 years ago or so...and no president has even really tried to do anything about it. At least part of the origins for our middle east problems lie that far in the past as well. If we had actually gotten serious about being more energy self sufficient after the gas shortage in the Carter years, instead of continuing to become more and more reliant on Middle Eastern oil. Well, I think it's not such a stretch to say that our interests in the Middle East(although we would still have some) would be nearly as vital. It would be interesting to see how our foreign policies would have looked had we not been beholden to the oil sheiks of the Middle East for decades.
  18. I know I'm not as educated on this stuff as I probably should be, but my question is at this point. How thin are we spread right now? And is there any reason to delay sending more troops into afghanistan because of that?
  19. Does anyone know when the PV/JM game has been rescheduled for? Thanks.
  20. Agreed, I think it would be the right call for both of these young men. It would be a shame for them to waste a year of eligibility at this point, when they would not be at their best even by the end of the season.
  21. It'll probably come down to a cap decision. If they feel they can get roughly the same production out of Ward and Bradshaw, whoever is cheapest is who they are likely to keep. I think trade-wise odds are that they might get a little more out of Ward as well. Personally I would love to see him stay with the Giants as the second back, behind Jacobs, I think that makes for quite a tandem. Either way, I think AB will be around in the league for quite a while simply because of his versatility.
  22. Yeah, but if it had been Karl Hess, it would've been despicable, disgraceful.....and FUNNY!
