  1. Would Webster be able to do it now, what with his involvement in the semi-pro team?
  2. Wow, if this is true, who will replace him do you think?
  3. OJ is screwed....thats a bad thing?
  4. If the rumors about the harris kid are true, it sounds like he has some issues to work out away from the playing field.
  5. Yeah, I knew that, I just misspoke. Sorry.
  6. Yeah, I've heard that comment quite a few times over the years. I think it's a bit of a reach to make that a big deal, but who knows?
  7. I'm going to have to disagree with you a little bit here futbolking. From what I've read and been told about ccds on the ncpreps board and a few others, the Charlotte private schools would be very competitive at the 4A level in N.C. Also according to a ratings website(looks kind of like the Gilliam ratings that used to be on VA preps) they have ccds ranked 16th in the state. They also have another private school in Charlotte, Charlotte Latin ranked first in the state. Take that for what it's worth(may not be worth much), but I think Bluefield is in for a very tough test on Friday.
  8. Just out of curiosity, has anyone figured out how many points CCDS is worth to Bluefield?
  9. The guy has a ton of talent. It's just been fun watching him tonight in a real offense for a change.
  10. I hope I'm wrong and I wish the kid the best, but I have a hard time seeing him as much more than a good Div. 2 Qb. Maybe a lower level 1-AA team. But I do think he could be very good at the D2 level.
  11. What happens if Tech loses today, well as far as the team, I have no idea. But one thing is for sure, if they lose the TSL servers will melt!

    Auburn

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Pulaski's starting QB is a transfer from Auburn.
  13. Ok, reading the more govt, less govt debate leads me to an honest question. When was the last time that the Federal government actually got smaller? I know that under some administrations it's growth has been slown a bit, but honestly aren't we just talking about a matter of degree here? Let's face it, there are massive problems with both of these candidates, just like there have been with every candidate since the first election I could vote in (1992). Bush has been a horrible president, I really don't see how you can say otherwise, and hey, I'm at least partly to blame, I voted for the guy. I would have happily voted for McCain 8 years ago, and I may eventually come around to that this time, but honestly with the changes in his rhetoric and his seemingly blind obediance to the party line of late, he just comes across as a typical politician, not a reformer. As far as Obama goes. The man gives a great speech. But for those who try to portray him as pure as the driven snow, I've got news for you. The man came up through what is probably the most corrupt political system in the country in Chicago. I seriously doubt the man came through that unscathed. Sorry about the rant, I guess for now you'll just have to put me down as undecided....better make that disgusted.
  14. I think it'll be a pretty good game. Do you know what Princeton brings back along the lines? Ordinarily, I would say that having a game under your belt is a real advantage for the Bluefield kids, but coach Simon has a really tough job getting his guys refocused on the next game. If they haven't let the last game go yet, it could actually end up being a small advantage for Princeton. As for the game, I think Princeton does break through....and scores. I do think it will be close, I would pick Bluefield by around 7-10 points.
  15. I know they lost Cutcliffe, but are they really changing their system? I hadn't heard much about them so far this year.
  16. Bill Gates should be forced to give me some of his $$$$ because Vista sucks!
  17. Yeah, but watch out for Duke! The Blue Devils are for real!!! If they played in 1 AA

    blacksburg

I saw them against Giles on Friday. They are kind of a one man show with their QB Gresh. Overall, they have a lot less team speed than last year. Their offensive and defensive lines seem to be a bit on the light side, but they are pretty well disciplined and do a solid job. I think Graham has an edge in the speed department, and I would also say Grahams size along the line will be a big edge. Their secondary will be tested again as B'burg does like to spread it out and throw the ball.
  19. Went to the NC preps site and asked about CCD. The folks there told me that they beat a South Carolina 4A team last year, Northwestern High. When I looked up Northwestern on Maxpreps, I found out they had only lost two games last year, one to CCD 51-48, and the other one to the team that is currently the number 1 team in the country according to USA today Byrne (SC). They lost to Byrne 14-0. I know this doesn't mean that much as far as this years game goes. Who knows how many returning players CCD has this year, but I did kind of feel like it spoke to the quality of program Bluefield is playing down there.
  20. I think the o-line will come together during the season, they're obviously not going to be as big and strong as last years, but as the year wears on they will get much better as a unit. What concerns me a little is the defensive side of the ball. I know we like to play sort of a "tampa 2" scheme that relies on the D-line to get pressure on the QB and stop the run. We're going to have to blitz and be more creative on the defensive side of the ball to make up for the relative youth and inexperience on the line
  21. I just noticed the score from the Mt. View-Iaeger game Friday night. Wow, is Mt. View really that bad this year?
  22. Agreed Gman, I think playing a team of Waynes' caliber this early in the season could get ugly for JM. This team should get a lot better during the season, but I'll be pleasantly suprised if they are ready for this game.
  23. Bama looked really good tonight, but I had a hard time telling if it was because they are that good. Or if it was just the normal play like crap in a big game Clemson performance. The answer is probably somewhere in the middle.
  24. I'll disagree a little bit on the running back issue. Kenny Lewis is a very quick back, and when there is a good hole he hits it pretty hard and fast, but man, he goes down really easy. He just doesn't have many moves, and doesn't seem to be able to break a tackle to save his life. The Evans kid has a lot of potential, though. Once he starts being a little less tentative, he's going to be a load. Also, I'll have you know, my grandmother was one hell of a QB.
  25. Guys, I'm no fan of Glennon's(or Tech either for that matter), but this team has a lot more problems than him. If I were a Tech fan, the most disturbing thing I saw today was the fact that the O-line looked absolutely awful for the biggest part of the game. This after repeated articles about how much better this particular unit was going to be. The ECU D-line pretty much manhandled Tech's line all day. It seems as if there is decent talent there, but they are just not getting the job done.
