  1. I do not think any team or their coaches are taking anyone lightly this time of year!!
  2. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Looks like im not an idiot after all. [/ QUOTE ] You're still an idiot...you just made a lucky guess...LOL [/ QUOTE ] Not an idiot, just a kid with the right guess.
  3. Abingdon--- They were 90% improved over last year and if their coach stays with them they should do well next year.
  4. [ QUOTE ] Well I wish the kid the best of luck, just hope he don't go and pull a McCraken (sp)......... [/ QUOTE ] As a Blues fan, thanks for the first part of your post, the second part wasn't needed.
  5. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm typing this as #1 Bluefield is laying the wood to #16 Roane County. I'm wondering how competitive the #16 team has historically been against #1. I do know that it used to be an 8-team playoff, as recent as 20-some years ago. I also know that Bluefield has come up from the lower 8 before. Thoughts...as West Virginia gets smaller and smaller, and more and more consolidation, there seems to be less quality teams below #10 or #12. Some ideas....12-team playoff. Give the top 4 a bye week, and let #5-#12 play for 4 spots, then pair them against #1-#4. Idea #2, a 10 team playoff. Give #1-#6 a bye week, and #7-#10 play for 2 spots. Or...should they revert to 8 teams, where it's 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, and 5-4? Thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] Sorry to quote myself, but I was reading up on Georgia high school football. Georgia has 5 classifications, and there are a total of 420 high schools in Georgia that are part of the classification system. That's enormous. I was startled how big the schools are down here, too. "The enrollment numbers show Gwinnett County has the seven largest high schools in Georgia: Mill Creek (3,771), Collins Hill (3,643), Brookwood (3,409), Grayson (3,107), Peachtree Ridge (3,051), Berkmar (2,960) and North Gwinnett (2,898). Forsyth Central, the smallest school slated for Class AAAAA, has 1,851 students" Does anyone have updated info on how many schools are in each WVSSAC classification? I am guessing it's 40-45 per class. [/ QUOTE ] Go Grayson Rams--all the way to the dome!!! I watched North Cobb demolish Marietta last night on Comcast Game of the Week. Middleton and Rico Mack are certainly D-1 players for North Cobb.
  6. [ QUOTE ] Honaker always play tough with Powell Valley........I look for a dog fight. [/ QUOTE ] Having seen both play the Blues this year---if it were the first of the season I would give the Vikings the edge, but the Tigers seem to have come into their on as the season progressed. As Logan Ball goes so goes the Tigers. Either way I think it will be a close game.

  10. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I heard he is getting a "full ride" scholarship to Va. Tech. Is their any truth in this? If so, for offense or defense? [/ QUOTE ] I challenge him to a pie eaten contest [/ QUOTE ] Big un believe you would win that one hands down!
  11. Wish the Beavers the best in state run! Also to put a face and personal side to the game, a special Beaver fan I met at the Richlands/Beaver game--Mr. Barnett and his wife. They shared a heart breaking story of the tragic death of their 9 year old grandson, Brian, who was killed 21 years ago on his way home from a Richlands/Beaver game. Mr. Barnett this post is in recognition of your loyal support of the Beavers and to honor Brian.
  12. [ QUOTE ] I agree...Right now it shouldnt matter who won the SWD because both teams are in the playoffs. I just really hope Richlands and Graham can win their first round games so we can see a rematch! [/ QUOTE ] Can you imagine what will happen to this message board with a Richlands/Graham rematch--G-Man will have to keep a bucket of ice handy to keep the circuits cool. LOL
  13. [ QUOTE ] What is the big deal? Champs-Co-champs. There is no dishonor in sharing a title with Richlands. The only thing that matters at this point is Graham and Marion. If you want any true bragging rights Quit worrying about district and focus on getting thru the rest of the season as winners! Not whiners. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for looking through your windshield to what lies ahead and not through the rear view mirror at what was!!
  14. [ QUOTE ] sooooooooooooooo, if graham / richlands play it will be at Mitchell stadium? [/ QUOTE ] As long as the Blues keep winning they will have all playoff games at home until state finals which are at Liberty U.
  15. [ QUOTE ] i was just being sarcastic with the Richlands folks...sorry if it caused any confusion, but anyway you are correct if they both Graham and Richlands win the first round games there would be a re-match Graham @ Richlands. [/ QUOTE ] Lance, you and G-Man are hanging together to much!! He's corrupting you.
  16. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Thanks for the Happy Birthday wish. Just as I told Anne several months ago, best of luck to the Blues and Austin except against Bluefield. So yes, I wish the Blues the best of luck as their playoffs get started in a couple of weeks. BTW: I have the perfect Christmas gift for you guys... [/ QUOTE ] Uh oh!!! Remember whose house we're at. You can't bring any of that Beaver paraphernalia to Mamaw B's!! [/ QUOTE ] Who said anything about Beaver paraphernalia? Let's just say you'll get a real "kick" out of it...lol [/ QUOTE ] Now you've got me wondering!! LOL
  17. [ QUOTE ] Thanks for the Happy Birthday wish. Just as I told Anne several months ago, best of luck to the Blues and Austin except against Bluefield. 18. Thanks Rules for the info on Muskegon. I watched a piece on them and their rival (Rockford) Thursday nite on vs. Reminded me of some of the great rivalries in this area. By the way Rules HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow!!! Won't see ya until Christmas Eve (unless you are going to come and cheer for the Blues) so I'll say best wishes to the Beavers in their state run just as I'm sure you would wish the same for the Blues.
  19. Ok Lance, a little help here, are you saying if Richlands and Graham win their first round playoff games, these two WON'T be playing each other for the regional championship?
  20. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Congrats to our Big Blue---great finish!!! Congrats to G-Men---great finish!!! Now we are waiting for the rematch!!! Not saying this arrogantly, but with confidence and faith in our Blues!!! [/ QUOTE ] what rematch? next year? [/ QUOTE ] Isn't there a possibility Richlands and Graham could face each other again in the playoffs?
  21. Congrats to our Big Blue---great finish!!! Congrats to G-Men---great finish!!! Now we are waiting for the rematch!!! Not saying this arrogantly, but with confidence and faith in our Blues!!!
  22. Austin Fuller--besides being an o/s W/R, also a great d-back, playing both ways for 4 qtrs. Kick returner also. This is a young man who has been double-teamed most games and still makes his presence known.
  23. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I seen Palmer at a ballgame he was in a Ut shirt iThuoght he had a punkinunder his shirt. It looks like the only place he has been running is Burger King. 24. [ QUOTE ] they are now 8-1 on the season with 2 games left. [/ QUOTE ] Know your a proud papa with a son on the team!!
  25. [ QUOTE ] Without a doubt, when 100%, Shane Wicks. I was very impressed with #53 from Bluefield, I think his name is Chris Harrison. [/ QUOTE ] Shane Wicks is truly a warrior and one of the best defensive players around--it has been an honor to watch him play for the Blues!!!
