  1. At the Half Waccamaw 3 Loris 35 Game held up several minutes after Waccamaw player collapsed on field and was put on a stretcher and taken to hospital
  2. After 1Q Waccamaw 3 Loris 15 Lions on Warriors 23 (1 and 10) with 11:42 2Q
  3. Anyone having issues with NFHS watching Tazewell/Va High? It keeps spooling. I've switched over to RV and Union no issues there. Started to watch Holston at PH, but they are in a "fog bowl"
  4. Did the Bearcats run their same offense last week with the new QB? Apparently him being a scrambler with speed could have been the wrinkle that made the game with the Gmen a close game. Drones a scrambler with speed brought a new dimension to the Hokies. Thank goodness!!! If Creasy is 100% I give the edge to the Dawgs. Creasy is a scrambler until a receiver gets open. The Dawgs have the advantage of having film on the Cats new QB, where the Gmen didn't. GO DAWGS!!!
  5. Dillon pulls away for win over Loris | Sports | myhorrynews.com Here is story on the Loris/Dillon game last night. The Lions miscues hurt themselves. Would have been a closer game.
  6. At the half Loris 6 Dillon 12 Knox was running ball after Dillon TD. Horse collar flag thrown by white cap, then waved off. Announcers can't believe it. Said this is Dillon.
  7. Loris 6 Dillon 0 2Q 9:17 Tray Knox with 8 yd TD run XP no good
  8. After 1 Qtr Loris 0 Dillon 0 Lions with a pick and ball on 42 start of 2nd Q Dillon missed a FG on their first possession
  9. Loris was leading 14 to 8 with little over 3 minutes to go in the game. Had stopped Gators on 4 downs and Lions started on their own 17. On 1st possession Lions coughed up the ball and Gators then scored TD and XP. Lions got down field (with the help of 2 penalties), tried a FG with 7 seconds left, bad snap. The rain was so heavy and wind blowing the radio announcers had to rely on sideline announcer to know where ball was. Also, the Lions were without their playmaker Tray Knox.
  10. Halftime (With rain and wind) at Lake View Loris Lions 7 Lake View 0
  11. I hope the Blues can continue the momentum they had in the first half Friday night. I believe the Blues get the ball first in the second half. If they can score on the drive, it will be a confidence booster for them. Only game I will not be rooting for the Dawgs.
  12. On the morning of 9/11/2001 it was a beautiful day, blue skies, white fluffy clouds, no thought of the evil that arose that day. Our eyes were transfixed to the television screen as we saw the carnage floating down from the skies, the collapse of the twin towers. A sea of terror we couldn't image happening. The days following we were together, united as one people, one nation giving homage to the lost, the suffering. There weren't boundaries of ethnicity to cross to mourn. Our vision was as one for the hurting and loss, not the nation of origin. This past Friday I was honored to see the same kind of day birthed; blue skies, white fluffy clouds as family came together to remember and honor my brother, a Korean War Veteran with a graveside memorial. The steel blue casket had the Navy emblem on one bottom corner, the eagle and flag on another bottom corner. The flag draping over the casket was removed and folded to exact specifications and given lovely to his daughter. The sailor knelt down and said "This is presented to you in honor of your Father's service to our country." We gathered as one, from different walks of life. There was a message, singers, guitars, tears, laughter, enveloped by the nucleus of love for our brother, Dad, grandfather. As the service proceeded you could hear jets approaching. The sound got closer and closer. In the blue blue sky and white fluffy clouds, appeared two fighter jets and they did a flyover. It was one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed and how it touched our lives. The family didn't request it and we aren't sure how it came about. His daughter talking the day before said "I wish there would be a flyover for Daddy." I told her "God hears our whispers." On this 9/11 day of 2023, I pray there were flyovers, flags raised, singing, tears, laughter and most of all a nucleus of love as we honor the lives that were lost, and the lives given in rescue of the fallen. AMEN!!!!
  13. I watched my Blues last night into 3rd Q. Then turned over to watch Blackman HS when their game started. Gosh the feed wasn't clear and didn't have audio of game, so I then switched over and watched Narrows/Holston. Their feed was actually clearing. It was a back and forth game, evenly matched, I thought. The Holston announcers had a different take on the penalties called. After 2 penalties put Narrows down in the red zone, one announcer stated "there will be no free haircuts tomorrow for the officiating crew in Damascus." Couldn't help but laugh. Accidently, cut off feed of game, didn't sign back on and so didn't know outcome until this morning.
  14. The Loris Lions were scheduled to play South Columbus of Tabor City, NC yesterday in Loris home game. Rescheduled for tonight at 6:30 due to flooding. Now game is cancelled. BUMMER!!!!
  15. Best wishes to the Dawgs!!! Let Riverheads hear the Dawgs fans loud and proud. Let Riverheads feel the Dawgs bark. TJ strong!!!
  16. My take last night watching Blues on NFHS while listening to Loris online. When it's 3rd and short and your deep in your opponent's side of field, I would have liked to see the Blues QB go under center, get a big push by O line, convert and have 4 more downs to work with. The Blues are in a dilemma, with some starters playing both ways. Ron said it was 83 degrees game time, but humidity on field 92. I thought the Blues defensively, played well in the 1st half, but the heat took a toll, with starters playing both ways. I saw a couple plays where QB locked in on certain wideout, and there were others in open space. Being a sophomore and playing 1st game as QB has its growing moments. I think the learning curve for him and his aptitude will grow with each game. A Blues fan, from several miles away, but heart close to Ernie Hicks Field on Friday nights. GO BLUES!!!!
