GW is VERY VERY young, but has TONS of talent and upside. This year will work out alright I think. I think they will beat Tazewell. As Dawg has said, this game has never been one sided. Well I think one year Tazewell won 37-7 or something like that. Might have been the 2006 season.

Whats Single A have to do with it? GW has been one of the best programs in the area the past decade. Look at Giles, Radford, Gretna, Gate City, William Campbell...all those have had teams that would lay a killing on most AA teams around.

I used to watch every Braves game before they took them off TBS. So I started fade when their TV coverage faded; however, I was still following their box scores. This year I have watched all of about 2 games, but still I follow the box scores. I watched them blow that game to the Marlins a few nights back. Anyway, didn't Farnsworth play with us a few years ago. Also, Ankiel had a pretty good season with St. Louis a few years ago didn't he? I've never really been a fan of Blanco anyway. Just not enough power for a middle of the order guy, and not enough consistency for a leadoff hitter. I hope the Braves hold on to their lead. It would be a nice way to end Bobby Cox's career because he has done so much for the organization. Unless we get more solid production in the runs department, we will fade to Philly by October and might even fade out of the Wild Card.

I don't even think Mitchell is the best stadium that hosts a AA team in SWVA. Salem Stadium is better IMO.

I think the players would be unhappy. Who doesn't want to play in a stadium like Mitchell?

The only reason he hasn't been productive recently is because Guardiola has been playing him on the wing at FCB, not at his natural striker position. That's why his form has dipped. At NYRB, he will be a main striker with Juan Pablo Angel, giving NYRB the best striking force the MLS has ever seen.

He still has more talent than anyone in the MLS, including Landon Donovan.

I wouldn't call Henry washed up. He still has talent. Enough to score a few times for the best team in the world FC Barcelona last season. The French coach was an idiot not to play him. New York got him off a free transfer and only have to play wages. I call it a steal.
