  1. TD Tazewell! Getting interesting. 14-9 7 mins left in 3rd
  2. Dawgs TD called back for holding.
  3. 14-2 gmen. Bad snap on punt for safety
  4. Gmen up 14-0 late in 2nd qtr. Tazewell killing theirselves with fumbles.
  5. This is the downside of consolidations. It won't be long before every county has one high school, or only two, and travel will be a huge issue for everyone in SWVA. Every time a consolidation happens, scheduling gets tougher for everybody. It isn't just the schools consolidating, or the other district schools, it trickles throughout the region. It will only get worse guys.
  6. Thanks. I know Wright through wrestling. He is a fine young man and has a bright future. There was some talk of him moving at one point I believe.
  7. Who is Abingdon's JV QB? Is it the Wright kid? Abingdon's JV came to Tazewell last night, but the MS team had to go down there again, so I didn't get to see the JV. Thanks in advance!
  8. Abingdon 20-0. Tazewell moved the ball well, just too many turnovers. Abingdon had some good looking athletes, especially at TE and WR. Tazewell is way undersized at middle school level. They have several 7th graders on the defensive side of the ball.
  9. I disagree. There are several Freshman and Sophomores that should be playing JV, having to Start on Friday nights. This is largely because there are so few kids in the upper classes. Over 20 Freshmen and only 4 Juniors. Things will get better.
  10. "Note: Graham has three transfers who played for Bluefield last season on its roster, including Kyshan Lee, Thaddeus Hess and Brennan Wheeler. Corey Coppola, who played for the G-Men last season, is now with the Beavers." -BDT Did either team get any future draft picks in this trade???? LOL with all the talk of transfers and r-freshman on this board I couldn't resist, sorry.
  11. Thanks for that! I needed a good laugh this morning!!
  12. Thank god they haven't yet! My son had a legit reason for holding back and wouldn't get to play sports his senior year.
  13. I was at both games. 8th grade game was dominated by 2-3 players from richlands. #15 was a stud. You could tell Tazewell's 8th grade team hadn't scrimmaged yet and they played several 7th graders. Richlands was well coached and very prepared. The JV game wasn't ever close. You could tell that richlands practices seperately, like always, from the varsity. Tazewell never has because of lack of numbers and will struggle to compete with Richlands with kids that stand around during practice. I'm not judging or disagreeing with any of it, just the facts. It shows even more at the varsity level because those kids are getting more reps during their freshman and sophomore years in practice. Tazewell's kids are getting beat to death and never learn the plays or defensive scheme(which also change every year here lately LOL). Coach Allen will be fine. The kids love him, give him their best effort. It will take some time but I think we have a coach that will turn things around up here. His biggest issue will be getting the youth league fixed and try to model it like all the great traditions around here do.
  14. The days of the buzz cut and a helmet that is so tight it bruises your head just aren't cool anymore. The kids want to be able to flip there helmet up without unbuckling their chinstraps like the college and NFL stars do. This will definately help keep some hats on during the game, at least for the ones that want to be on the field every play.
  15. No, I'm not lumping them together for sure! My wife is a nader and I have worked at both RHS and RMS and have some good friends down there. I actually would rather take some of our fans aside and settle some matters before I would the Blues fans! LOL As far as that experience goes, I was only in 5th grade so it was more a hassle than anything to me, but I think my Dad was alot more pissed off! (sorry I couldn't help the word choice)
  16. You may be right about the score, sorry bout that. Biggest things I remember about that game were my brother catching a long TD pass and our tires were slashed in the parking lot after the game. To add insult, whoever slashed them decided to urinate all over them too. Got to love those naders....LOL!!
  17. I may be wrong on the overall records. But I am positive that Tazewell lost to Richlands that year so its doubtful that they were district champions. They lost 21-7. It was my brother's senior year and Tazewell beat Richlands every year after that until my senior year, the '91 football season. Neither of us are very proud of that stat. LOL
  18. After some searching, Tazewell went 8-2 in '84-85 school year and sat home for playoffs. '85-86 year stayed at home again at 7-3. That is about all I could find. My brother was on the '84 team. when I get a chance, I will see what he remembers.
  19. I don't remember. I know they lost at Abingdon that year. I will try to find out for you though.
  20. No problem. and for the record that '81 region championship for Graham was the snow bowl correct? 6-3 win over Tazewell
  21. Tazewell and Richlands both won Region titles in '04. Tazewell lost to Gretna in state semis and Richlands lost to Salem.
  22. As long as you move, and can prove residence(lights, water, etc.) the first transfer in Tazewell County is without penalty. Before you guys say they don't check, I know for a fact they went to the actual homes of some of the inter-county transfers. As far as out of state transfers, I don't think they are as strict.
  23. Sounds good enough for me. I just took it as you were arguing and agreeing at the same time.
  24. "He's either (1) been living under a rock since 2000 or (2) is a pompous jerk who clearly does no research." "Hell, when has Clemson?! That's was Clemson's MO until this year...choke in the bright lights when you have the talent to win. To the big extent, that's VT's, too...VT is 1-26 against Top 5 opponents. That's downright...horrible. Clemson and VT have been consistent alright..." Is he an idiot, or was he correct in saying the ACC doesn't win consistantly? Seems like you might be arguing both points here.
