As it takes just one shot to kill someone, it also takes just one kick/punch to the temple to kill someone. He taking out his gun could have saved his life. EH, have you seen the security guards at the Mercer Mall (or malls in general)? They wouldn't be able to do a single thing if they came across someone being jumped by 3 individuals. Believe me, I've seen them stand and watch two kids fight before, with no intent on stopping it.

Going from the 2 yard line and on the right hash, that would have been an extremely difficult kick for a right-footed kicker like Will Cole. Plus, he was sufferering cramps in his leg that made him sit out a couple snaps earlier in the game.

I brought my roommate to the game last year. He, from Toledo, Ohio, refused to believe me that 10,000+ roll into the stadium every year to watch a hs football game. Then we walked in about 45 min before gametime and his jaw too dropped. Side note, idk the official number but the record for attendance was in 2007 with the new field at over 13,700

I was unaware they were replaced. However, it looks as if there isn't any regular maintenance being done on the bleachers. And believe me, I understand the spectators are responsible for the damaged, horrible look.

If it's going to be changed, it should be called Bluefield Coliseum. "Bluefield" because the stadium represents school from both Bluefields, thus making the name favorable to neither side. "Coliseum" because it's bad-a**. The idea of erecting statues of memorable coaches is a great one in my mind. The grass/brush/crap-fest that's going on around the scoreboard looks awful anyway. First and foremost, the city of Bluefield/BHS/GHS/whoever needs to find some funding to redo the bleachers. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but look across at the condition of the bleachers next time you're in the stadium. They look horrible and they aren't wheelchair accessible.

My bold prediction for the college football season: The winner of the Boise State/Va. Tech game will play in the national championship. In a weak conference with an automatic BCS bid, Tech should stroll through with the team they have returning. However, SHOULD is emphasized. They still have the same offensive coordinator and I'm sure they'll still have that incredible ability to choke. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost at Miami as the Hurricanes have a significant amount of experienced returning players. That being said, the Hokies definitely have the ability to go into Landshark/Dolphin/Pro Player/Joe Robbie (only God knows) whatever stadium and pull off a win.

If Bluefield could, they should run the spread option. Beckett running a 4.41 forty at the recent Marshall elite camp and wise head along with the speed and brains of Trey Williams, Brad Fox, and Byron Steptoe, Bluefield should be able to run an option well. The line, as Rules said returns 4 two-year starters, should be able to manage an option scheme, especially after Bluefield showed success with it against Graham/Princeton last year.
