  1. I agree that they should probably expand it, I am just saying that it has already been decided on for this year. And this year there are NOT 6 deserving teams. Other years, however, there are many deserving teams just not this year.
  2. This is voted on during the summer before football starts therefore it cannot be changed for this year. However, I dont think it should be 6 teams. There are not 6 teams that deserve to be in the playoffs this year. There are barely 4.
  3. I disagree, Tech will win out and be 9-3 at the end of the regular season. They will not continue to play down to their competition.
  4. Virginia Tech will be fine. As far as the offense goes yes it is somewhat predictable but it always has been under Stinespring. He is just not a very good OC. He doesn't call plays will the flow of the game and that kills momentum. Although, VT is in the top 10 in the country in pass efficiency and they have a star running back in Ryan Williams along with young but solid receivers. The defense however is extremely young especially at the linebacker position. They will continue to improve over time. This year was never supposed to be VT's year for a title run but it was turned into that by the media. That year will be next year! VT will be much improved next year especially on the defensive side of the ball. Tyrod Taylor has turned into a very efficient passer. Virginia Tech will be fine, they are just going thru some growing pains on the defensive side. Although, VT can still have a very good year and they can continue their streak of 10 win seasons if they win out including their bowl game.
  5. After last night Joseph Vaughn has 1,141 yards and Dusty Clark has 800.
  6. I agree that Stinespring needs to go and that he didn't see what needed to change.. But GT had 300 yards of offense in the second half. Foster didn't make one single adjustment. Paul Johnson knew he could call a play around the end every time on 2nd or 3rd down and it was for sure gonna be a first down. It was the same look from VT's defense every play.
  7. Tonight's loss lays solely on Bud Foster and the defense. Typically he is great at making adjustments but in the 2nd half he did not make one adjustment to defend the outside pitch. Georgia Tech was getting 8-10 yards every time on that play. I will be the first guy to say I think Bud Foster is one of the top 5 defensive coordinators in the country but tonight there were no adjustments!
  8. Gate City 14, Virginia High 0. 10:12 left in 2nd quarter
  9. UVA-Wise is a terrible facility to watch a game. There is not near enough seats especially on the visitor's side. It is just not a good site play a game.
  10. Then there is no reason to seed them. You should just do a coin flip to see who plays each other. Without having home field advantage then there is no reason to push for the best record as long as you know you are getting in. There is no reason it shouldn't be home-field.
  11. No, that is the second round. The 3rd round is the winner of Region D playing winner of Region C. And B playing A.
  12. I completely agree with on being able to host. I'm hoping though that if Gate City is fortunate enough to make it to the regional championship game and if they are seeded #1 then maybe Coach Houseright can pull some strings to be able to get that game at Legion Field. I have no idea why the prior coaching staff would agree to play it up there if you are the #1 seed.
  13. Gate City is in up years? Gate City is extremely young but very talented. Although they have grown up a lot and they are continuing to improve and they do look very good. If you think this year is an up year then you better look out come next year and for several years after that. However, GC is looking good and if they stay healthy could go deep into the playoffs.
  14. That poll is wrong I would think because Gretna has lost one game this year. They lost to LCA the 2nd or 3rd week of the year
  15. Would you like some cheese with that whine? HAHAHAHA. You amuse me! Seems to me that you are just upset about the loss, that is the whole point, it is our home field not yours therefore we can create the atmosphere how we want and the horn is in no way disrespectful to visiting fans except, I guess, for the ones with bad attitudes and the ones who are sore losers. Good Luck to Bluefield the rest of the season!
  16. That right there is exactly why we do it. It is aggravating for thw away players and fans, it is tradition, and it keeps the other team and fans knowing we are making plays and that stays in the back of their minds. It also fires everyone up
  17. Actually it is about 685 for Gate City (9-12)
  18. It was very crowded at the South and GC game but as a Gate City fan it has been much more packed in the past. In 2004 when GC played Powell Valley there were almost 10,000 fans at this game. That is more than 2,000 more than at the GC, South game. But no doubt it was packed this year. There was a little over 7,000 fans there which is still by far more than 95% of the high school games you will see around here. It is a great atmosphere and I love watching games there.
  19. Sorry I was a little off it was 204 yards of total offense to be exact. Wasn't even close.
  20. 500 yards for GC to less than 200 for Tazewell. It was a blowout, no other way around it. The score was actually closer than what the game was. GC manhandled Tazewell in every phase of the game, wasnt even close.
