Yeah but Haysi's notorious for the Birchleaf bears in JV and Middle School..... when they drive to those 8th grade games that was the first sign things weren't what they should have been.

why don't any of them play basketball? Is it because the yellow uni's? Bc they've got some great athletes in football, but basketball main they're not there..... is that Winter baseballl season?

If I were to tell you that any team loses it's head Coach of 27 years. It's D cord, it's O cord of about roughly 20 and some change. Graduates 12 Seniors who had the best recent era year for that team in a long time. AND they lose over 1k of rushing yards to the team that they play next week. That has all their skill players back and 3 solid coaches..... Tester, Davis, and Church.... and alot of those kids have a bad taste in their mouth from getting blown out at home last year. That's motivation enough I think the Hurley fans did over do it last year, but this is their cycle of athletes coming through they've paid their dues with some rough years so I say let them enjoy the success and state trips etc. Just hope that woman doesn't have her Megaphone if it doesn't go Grundy's way..... How many Hurley athletes have jumped ship to Grundy over the years? And 2 people go from Grundy to Hurley and the world's coming to an end? I'm not talking crap, but Grundy's in a rebuilding year I think it's safe to say that .500 would be a good year.

Do you A) Walk everyone up in the box and try to take away Bergie and let Austin Cooper pick you apart? or do you (B) try to guess and bring the blitz or sit back and not show blitz and let Bergie gash and cutback on you b/c Grundy isn't very sure tackling... I'd like to see that O'Quinn on Waynick matchup, b/c those are two of your best athletes in the district right there.... Usually when a trojan breaks there's not such a great reaction haha glad to see Trojans breaking the losing streak..... They may even give Wright an extension... no Battle Coach gets a 2 year deal.... Hope he gets the money guaranteed!

Preps hasn't been worth reading in a decade..... about a decade ago however we had to have a public service announcement over va preps bc it was getting so heated between Council and Haysi before we could play our game......

Don't count on it.... He's a good Coach, but Battle has a high turnover rate for coaches. Best I can tell he's pretty strict on coaches and hardworker and practicer that won't bode well for the Exit 7 Politicians and Parents Battle's in a tough situation reminds me of Coeburn decent teams for alot of years, but stuck in the LPD with the Powell Valleys, Burtons, and Appalachians... Outside of Lee County the Clinch Mountain is insanely tough in Football.... I do hope the Trojans Break all over Lee Co

Who said TV was weak? TV beat Grundy like they stole something. Just couldn't get it in the endzone. Had two possessions inside the 10 and once inside the 15 and didn't get a score. Grundy scooped up a fumble and returned it for a TD. After TV got the first onside kick went down and scored, they were about 1/2 a yard from recovering the second onside kick when Grundy got caught with it's pants down.... and TV had about a 40 yard TD run called back for "holding"..... Hurley Honaker will be a much better game than Hurley Grundy.... Hurley will be first or second in the district just depends on the Honaker game.

I'll tell you what Rowe did like to kick was some tail. Grundy football wouldn't be or matter without Rowe and Compton. I'm disappointed in Grundy for not appreciating what they had in Rowe and Compton. I think alot of people whined b/c they weren't fake and didn't kiss people's butts and play the political game down there....,but to me as a coach I respect them even more for that. Grundy in it's hay day would flat throttle people I've witnessed it first hand. Jeremy's a good guy and will do the best job possible and put in the effort, but man you can't replace those two and that's going hurt for years to come. Rowe and Compton are two of the best I've played against for 3 years at Garden, and two of the best I've been opposite the sidelines for 3 years. Compton and Ray Jones are two of the best defensive minds I've been around.. and I'll tell you someone who is up and coming is Davis @ Hurley And Rowe is one of the smartest people I've talked to about any sport. Everyone gives Colley his due and rightfully so he's a great offensive mind and runs alot of plays out of alot of sets and finds way to get the ball to his best when everyone knows what's coming, but Grundy has owned Haysi for years and Rowe's up there with the best of the best in my book I know that they won't but alot of people in Grundy owe Rowe and Compton some props wether they ever give them or not..... I mean just look at Grundy's facility

New rules the 10-10-6 Dead Periods..... First 2 weeks of a new season, such as Volleyball and Football August 1st to 15th coaches can't have any contact... but after that you can practice just like it's November now.... and then 10 days after your season ends in Feb or March for most teams you can't have any contact and then 6 days in July you can't have any contact.... But you can have practice now like no ones business

Hurley puts the whoopin on Ervinton.... I just hope Ervinton can stay healthy til they play my panthers...... I'm not saying that TV WILL be Grundy, but it's the first year that it's believable to say they CAN.... When the game got out of hand last year @ Grundy TV drove down and scored on Grundy's 2nd squad which is this years first.... And it took some Sr. Prom moves from John Kelly on a couple of 4th downs last year to get away from Moore and Fletcher at DE If they can't throw it up to Dylan O and TV gets the ball and drives it and plays keep away it'll be on like Donkey Kong.... Personally I'll take Ray Jones as a 28 + point swing for the Panthers that'd be - 21 that Grundy won't score and TV getting those extra possessions will = +7 for the Panthers....... I'll take the Panthers to get the Golden Wave in a dog fight nail biter, and we'll need to come up with some names for the dessert they'll name in honor of Coach Crigger down at the Derby.... Maybe wrong but I think Garden/Twin Valley has only beaten Grundy 5 times in about Mid 50 attempts all 5 were Garden over Grundy TV never has......

Maybe someone can clear it up for me, but someone said Dan River dropped down to D-1? Altavista's Coach C said they had the best top 7 he's seen and a legit D1 prospect @ a guard... that's a long way to get there just kind of sucks for Hurley they've got a good prospective run going and it doesn't look like the stars are aligning for them.... I do think Bergelowe will help Hurley and Nick Gibson off of JV.... I can't wait to hear the Rebel Yells trying to say Bergelowe haha

Losing Coach has to take the John Battle job next year when it opens up and puts in a new system so this years Jr's keep the tradition alive of changing every year haha

Why is Richlands ahead of G-dub? I thought that G-dub beat Richlands in a jamboree? I think it is something valley link, but George Whythe is running wild on Gate City like hulkamania in that video I saw..... G dub will be playing Radford for Reg. D, D-1 I think in the new sectionals format.
