I really liked Richlands UCLA Blue with white pants and helmet . Color scheme lasted for a few years ,but they returned to the original colors several years ago . Anyone remember the light blue with red numbers ? Hideous!
Nope, we have almost a full stable returning this fall. Our QB is only a jr. Our roster is filled with freshmen and sophmores and i know of atleast 1 RB from jv that is going to be a killer.

Solution for Richlands coaching vacancy ,Simon takes WV Retirement , takes the RHS coaching position for at least 5 years and then is eligible for VA VRS ! NO BRAINER - The Beavers have a good shot at another State Championship! Just Dreaming!
With all due respect, it’s ridiculous to compare 2003 to Friday night’s game. In 2003 the game was won and refs determined the outcome. There was one questionable call in my opinion Friday night. Bluefield had two TDS called back: two sloppy plays that allowed Richlands to score. If not for those missteps, the outcome would have been even more lopsided. Richlands played hard but they weren’t beating Bluefield this year, period. Anyone blaming the loss on refs didn’t watch the same game I did. Bluefield is strong, fast, talent all over the field. Richlands has talent in Webb and Forest. Simmons is decent at QB. They should have a good season when it’s said & done and make playoffs. If Bluefield had everyone in & healthy it would have been a more embarrassing loss than the regular season game with Graham last year. I’m not throwing any shade at Richlands , they always play hard and are well coached. I’m just looking at the entire picture realistically. 2003 is nowhere near 9/27/19.
I was not comparing this year's game to 2003.I was making reference to the action Richlands and others did after being screwed in Bluefield.
Hopefully , Richlands and enuff others drop them so that they have to go back to Charolette for the usual butt kicking !
You folks say your Bears will be great next year. Ok , no problem with that prediction ! A challenge for you ! Schedule the Beavers in Bluefield and you will appreciate Kentucky Officiating !
addendum to topic -any official who cannot call a game without favoritism to one team at the expense of the other is guilty of cheating young men who have been taught by a sincere coach that clean and fair play is paramount. What message is sent to young men when it is obvious to them and others that the Refs deliberately made bad calls to favor their TEAM!
One has to wonder how many of the wins Bluefield has won in Mitchell Stadium have been aided by FRIENDLY OFFICIALS ! JMHO !
Richlands should end the series with Bluefield as it is extremely difficult to overcome biased officials when playing them in Wva. End it like RHS did in 2003 when any objective fan who saw that game will admit that the Zebras made sure that the Beavers would make the playoffs.

I have changed my recommendation. Seeing as how Richlands folks boycotted the Bearded Moose when the owner called out the football team for running through y'all's band last season, I think every Union fan should stop in Richlands and eat there. It's good eats and on the way. You know, sort of a "thank you" for siding with you all.
I was at the game. The announcer introduced the Union Band while the Blues had not finished their pre game activities.
IMHO, Jamie Harless is the best h.s. coach in Virginia without a title. He's turned a perennial doormat into a top-level 3A program. Nothing against the Beavers, but LB wins going away.

The game changer when UNION played RICHLANDS came when BAILEY hit JENKINS for that long touchdown.ADKINS is still growing and getting better, but SEXTON will be your star of the game ,if he is given a chance,good luck to both programs
That was a big factor in the game and the Blues letting 2 Union punts roll inside the 10 yard was big in union's favor.
