How many times have you heard a guy say "Back when I played we were much better than this year's team" or "my senior year we could have won state if we were playing now".  People always seem to think "when they played" that football was at its best ever.  Well, ole Phil Robbins is the same way.  Back when he coached, football was at its pinnacle but now that he ain't coaching, well football around here sucks now.  What a flippin idiot!!

Lebanon won in OT after having a 2 TD lead.  I wouldn't call that being hit in the mouth.  Or if it was, VHS shook it off to force OT. 
 
I have thought all along that VHS would be up and down this year as we get accustomed to yet another new head coach and staff.  But soft?  C'mon man!

With all due respect, you sir are incorrect.  You may attempt to pettifog the argument by using "Clinton speak" (i.e: define is) when defining Freedom of Speech if you so desire. But the incontrovertible fact remains that the Freedom of Speech is an inalienable right of all U.S. citizens.  It cannot be infringed upon by either private or public entity.  To do so is a violation of one of the main tenets of our constitution.
 
You are confusing the right of the board administrators to limit access to a private enterprise as inhibiting free speech.  It is not.  Access or membership in private entities is not a right.  Country clubs, fraternities, sororities, message boards, Sam's Club, etc. all have the ability to limit access.  I reiterate that they do not have the right to inhibit free speech.  They do have the ability to establish membership criteria and the penalties for violating that criteria.  It is up to the individual seeking membership to decide if they want to follow those guidelines.

You don't know much about the school, yet felt qualified enough to make a claim that Coach Wheeler encouraged dirty play? Well I do know a lot about the program, and Coach Wheeler, and I can promise you that dirty play wasn't tolerated, nor was it coached or taught.

Well that is your opinion, but along with Brown we have one of the most explosive receivers in the area in Austin Miles, who has over 500 yards receiving for the season. I think we've got more overall talent than 90% of the teams in SWVA, but focusing that talent has been the issue all year.
 
I don't doubt for a moment that if we play like we did against Lebanon that you guys won't win, but if you get the Bearcat team that played against Abingdon or Chilhowie, we will beat you.

Great post! Kids today are taught to go tell somebody about the bullying, or anything else for that matter. My dad would have wore me out for that when I was younger. I teach my kids to stay away from trouble, but when it gets down to it, they better stand up for themselves. You can't make it very far relying on somebody else to fix your problems. As a parent you want to protect your kids, but if you really want them to succeed, you have to let them handle things on their own and support them every step of the way.

Probably a bit off topic, but......whatever happened to the days when parents told their kids.....don't start no s*%t but you better not take any s*#t......the message that kids should receive (in my opinion) is not to be a victim.  Sign of the times I guess.....these days it is fashionable to be a victim.
 
Today's kids have a dim outlook if you think about it.  All of this social media today, nobody actually talks with anybody any more.  Inter-personal communication skills will soon be a thing of the past.  Everyone wants to blame someone else...no accountability..we have petitions, websites, political campaigns, movies.....all about kids being bullies.  Not trying to say that bullying is a good thing, because it isn't.  In all of these anti-bully campaigns......is there ever a message about not being a victim?  Or standing up to a bully.  This country was founded on standing up to bullies.   I guess if this was the practice a couple hundred years ago.....we would have simply campaigned the French to make the mean men in red coats stop bullying us.  It that was the case.....we would all be drinking tea. Just my two cents.
