Guest BEAVERTAIL Report Share Posted November 5, 2008 I don't need any examples...I'll just take a bag of whatever you are smokin' You might as well ask many of the other people on this board as well for what they are smoking. Obama has socialistic tendencies. People see that. I gave you reasons why. You cant honestly think because a bland definition from a dictionary that doesnt give examples, means Obama isnt socialistic. Id say a lot of liberals voted for him because he was. I mean seriously, redistrubution of wealth is the main proponent of socialism, to ensure a classless society. As for your incorrect statement, that you got from the liberal media about McCain's healthcare, let someone else who must be smoking, Glenn Beck explain it to you... These people don't understand what redistribution of wealth is. Here's the major difference between Obama's long series of ideas and McCain's healthcare plan. McCain takes my money, and then hands it back to me. Obama takes my money, and then hands it to someone else. McCain's tact on healthcare is closer to an accounting issue, to give you the same tax benefit for buying your own insurance that you would get if your employer gave it to you. Obama is saying "Let me decide who has too much, and who has too little, and then I'll even it out. That will be better for everyone!" Guest BEAVERTAIL Report Share Posted November 5, 2008 Look, let me point something out. I hope Obama pulls out a miracle, cause its gonna take one. This country is gonna get worse, dont get me wrong. Fact of the matter is, he does have some socialistic tendencies. No one can truly dispute that. This country has been moving socialistic for a little while now. Socialism is not what we want. It is unconstitutional. North Korea, China, Cuba, Russia, all have communistic societies. Trust me, its not what we want. Does anyone want the goverment telling us what to do when it comes to healthcare and media? Do you want the goverment deciding who gets the money you make? Does anyone want the goverment to decide anything for them? I know I dont, who would trust the goverment honestly? This country needs unity. From all races, parties, and genders. But we are not gonna get it when people tell others they are smoking crack and so on. Obama is gonna have to govern from the center for this to happen as well. I will offer this up as a sign of peace, Do I think Obama will redistribute wealth? No. He understands that our businesses and economy can not take any higher taxes right now. He knows that they cant take higher taxes probably pushing up prices. He isnt that dumb. He knows that we will probably have to build on the deficit to make it out. We cant afford to start to pay for it now in this time of crisis.

We cant afford to start to pay for it now in this time of crisis. Good post. I'm ready to move forward, whatever that means. We are America. We need to give Obama the same chance to govern as we have for 43 people before him. We are a democratic society from the beginning, and that won't fail us. I feel like he has good intentions from his fundamental belief that people should be equal in the eyes of each other. Our disagreement comes with our own belief that it doesn't necessarily have to be financial equality, but that we should see our fellow Americans as equal regardless of their financial situation, race, creed, sex, etc.

milktheclock 10 Report Share Posted November 5, 2008 I think there are few who would not wish Obama a good term, we all want America to succeed. However, many of us still believe that our positions are correct, and want to be accounted for as well in moving in the right direction. We must all hope this election does not divide this country more, and that the politicians learn to reach across the isle more times than not. The last time a Presidental election divided the country he went on to become the greatest president ever. I doubt Obama will rank in that discussion...I just hope he uses veto power to keep America towards the center.

I agree Lance! We need to quit complaining and the media needs to stop starting S%*t! Why can't we work together as a country to make this place the place that everyone wanted to be. Obama does have to work from the middle and get both sides on board.

But I have grave doubts that he'll govern as he states: toward the center. His Senate record indicates otherwise. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise. He is our President-elect, after all.

hokie07 11 Report Share Posted November 5, 2008 playing the "black" card is out the door now..no one can argue that we arent equal now... With all due respect, the "race card" should've been thrown out of the door long ago. Throughout Obama's whole campaign, he shed the light that he did not want to be viewed as "black" and that he wanted to be the voice for ALL races. Obama's election to presidency wasn't intended empower just one race, but to instill "hope" and "change" and guide the United States as a whole nation into a better path. Yes, this is an important event in history, and yes this a huge step for our country, but people are focusing on something that should be irrelevant, and also, something that Obama has been trying to rid for a long time now.
