tbgfan 855 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 Saw on one of these threads, where Observer posted that the Blues could possibly play Graham in playoffs at Mitchell. Is that because they have outpointed us. Listen guys, when Union Fan and Helper are calculating the projections of the points I am lost. If both finish out 9-1 and we beat the G-Men how does this happen? It may be simple for some of you to understand, but not me, I still love to play GO FISH. Also, I know the Falcons play Tazewell Friday nite at Dawg Town. It would take divine intervention, but I believe in that. So if the Dawgs pull off the impossible, IF THAT OCCURS, who would that benefit the most point wise? Sincerely

So if the Dawgs pull off the impossible, IF THAT OCCURS, who would that benefit the most point wise? Sincerely The short answer is: Graham's opponents will have more wins at the end of the season than Richlands opponents. Also The Abingdon game was huge for both teams. Assuming Abingdon is 9-1 the win for Graham earned them 38 points and the loss for Richlands earned them only 17. Tazewell/Abingdon won't matter since both are on Richlands schedule. No matter who wins you'll end up with the same amount of rider points.
Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 Yea, I got them. Havok had been posting them, so I've just been doing the scenarios. In the matter of Tazewell/Abingdon...if Tazewell pulled an upset it would technically benefit Richlands more because they lost to Abingdon. Graham will get 2 pts regardless because they beat both teams. Richlands will get 1 pt if Abingdon wins and 2 pts if Tazewell wins.
EH31 2,518 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 ^ that is true. 1 point difference would average out to .10 which shouldn't effect anything though.

Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 Anybody figured them up yet? Thanks in advance Barring a Marion victory over Abingdon, I think that Giles and Grundy will be fighting for that #8 spot. Either way, Giles will win that match-up and be looking at a trip to either Appomattox or Graham. Would love to see either of those games. Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 With Dan river only playing 9 games could Union possibly jump them. Technically, DR plays 10 games. They get a forfeit victory over Bartlett Yancey. It would take so many games to go Union's way, that I just don't think it's possible. Don't know if I want a 2nd round trip to Appomattox or Graham LOL....but I know it will be one of the top 4 so it really won't matter as all 4 are very very good teams....just as soon play Graham though if I could choose....not because i think they are the 4th best team of the 4 but because it's the closest to Pearisburg LOL Deleted Account

But we also have seen what Graham has and can prepare better for them even though I feel they have much more talent than Appo. And Appo "fans" have already said that the train horn will not be allowed(even though they have one) and I'm not happy about that but oh well. I guess we need to worry about getting past Grundy, Lee, Marion or whoever in the 1st round.
Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 I really like the idea of no rematches in the playoffs, but it's unavoidable too many times. Definitely bit Union in 2013. I would dare say that nobody wants to see Giles or Graham right now for completely different reasons. Methodical single-wing pounding you the whole game or explosive speedsters all over the field. Pick your poison, right?

Pick your poison, right? They definitely bring two different styles of offense to the table. Graham thrashes Giles in team speed but Giles played good discipline defensive football in the first game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the g-men air it out more if there is a rematch. Graham had 3 big plays on the ground but other than that I feel like they done a pretty good job keeping Cousin and Meade bottled up. Should be a fun one if they play again. swva_havok_fan 1,261 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 I'll be glad next year when they change the playoff format, so people can stop whining about travelling eventually and that way everyone can play teams they've already met in the regular season until the semifinals.
