State semifinal updates

Postseason baseball is much different than regular season. Auburn will be a stern test for Lebanon. Auburn has been in this spot just as much, if not more, than Lebanon the past few seasons.

No one said Auburn would not be a tough test or a good test – what was said is that they are the best team that Lebanon has seen in Virginia all year and I disagree with that. Abingdon is certainly better.

Does any of you know if Virginia ever became NORMAL like North Carolina and made their championship game a best of 3 series, or do they still do the thing for a one game only? Of which, we are left knowing about 1/2 of the time who the better team was over the past 40 freakin years? In Carolina, I'm pretty sure they start in the semifinals for the best of 3 series.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

Thanks for info. May ride up tomorrow and support the girls since I’m at the lake. Thought it may be like football, and go through GoFan.

In Tennessee, district tournaments are double elimination.  This year, the region tournament also became double elimination.  The Sectional (sweet 16) became best of three this year.  The state tournament has always been double elimination.

James River beats King William in 8 innings winning it 2 to 1.  JR will play Tazewell in Softball state title game.  In Baseball, Poquoson beats Alleghany 5-4 and will play Patrick County in the state championship as Patrick County beat Buckingham 10-3 in the other state semi's game.

Auburn is just hell on earth in basically ANY type of competitive event played other than Football.  Do they play badminton?  If they do, then they are competing for a state title year in and year out.  This bunch is like 25-1 in girl's softball and they won also and play Rye Cove in the state championship and the boys in Baseball are like 24-2ish, and of course they play Lebanon.  It's really remarkable about Auburn on how they just compete in seemingly everything year in and year out.  They don't always win it, but sometimes they do and just deep in the thick of it.  Other than football of course, of which they are just God awful, and that's putting it nicely.  Should be a heck of battle with Lebanon and Auburn in baseball.

Think auburn got lucky today. Anyone that was there knows how badly the umps blew a call. Runners on 1st and 2nd no outs kid lays a bunt down the first base line first baseman fields it and throws to third but the runner hip checks him and makes an inaccurate throw (probably would have been out with a good throw). Umps call no obstruction and then the Lancaster hc gets tossed (respectively).auburn scores two runs that inning. They got outhit by Lancaster 4-3
