Is it just me or has the arrogance and show boating made it's way to high school wrestling? Maybe I have just overlooked it in the past and not picked up on it. Quote

The guys competed well as we enter a training phase before the duals. We recognize this year was a "perfect storm" for our tournament. We usually have teams from Roanoke, Kentucky and North Carolina. When we moved to avoid the Bates, last week, we ran into the Big Orange, the Hatfield McCoy and prior commitment from some NC teams. We are also dealing with the 5 tournaments limit, that will be 7 or 8 next year. We will evaluate and find the best date and options for next year. We would like to have our commitments before season ends this year. However, I do think we made the best of a difficult situation. Everyone got matches and lots of them! I think it was a good experience and it will be much improved next season.” They moved it back a week this year to try and not compete with the Bobby Bates and it sounds like it bit them by running up against some other big time tournaments out of state. RichRich Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 That tournament has been in decline for yrs.. I think there may have been 12 teams last yr. No place to stay and dealing with Grundy fans at their tournament not good... I think we stayed at the anchor inn one yr and bout froze to death. A 3 man bracket for that tourney is shocking tho Quote
