Bluefield_Rules
Carolina dug themselves a hole in the second half and clawed back within two points, but just couldn't get over the hump. They battled back and showed heart not to give up being down 16 points with 8 minutes left. The team is young and will get better with each passing game. Once they start clicking few teams will have the horses to stop them. The best thing, this is college basketball and a couple of losses don't mean much come March. Narz_Wave
Not too bad of a loss by the Heels. Gonzaga is quickly becoming a quality opponent year in & year out. The Heels are very young & need to experience some losing so that they can learn. Better for them to lose now than later in the season. GMan
UNC was terrible last night...37% FG (25/68), 22% 3-Pts (6/27), 60% FT (18/30)...BRICK CITY! If Gonzaga shot as many FTs as UNC (30-13)...Gonzaga had 5 players with at least 4 fouls...and not had as many turnovers as they did (17), this game would have been a blowout! Bluefield_Rules
Seven of the 12 missed free throws were by Brandan Wright, who was 7-14 from the FT line. Had Wright made his free throws it would have been different game, especially early on.

dcecilgolf
The 'Zags are always good for an upset in the regular season, but they always choke come Tourney Time.
Sambo
UNC didn't sweat the Volunteers today. Tarheels 101 Tennessee 87 What I saw of it (I was flippin' around quite a bit), UT didn't seem like they were ever in the game.
Bluefield_Rules
[ QUOTE ] UNC didn't sweat the Volunteers today. Tarheels 101 Tennessee 87 What I saw of it (I was flippin' around quite a bit), UT didn't seem like they were ever in the game. [/ QUOTE ] They were not in the game after the first T.V. timeout (16:00 under, when it was 22-16). Carolina ran the lead out to double-digits right after, leading by 21 at halftime and UT couldn't get any closer than 12 in the second half. Bluefield_Rules
How about those Heels now? The ticket was worth the $200 I paid for it, what an exciting and great game to be apart of...
VTCC22
#6 UNC beats #1 Ohio State 98 - 89 That shows that UNC is still in contention. They just had a bad game in the NIT against Gonzaga. My main question now is, how do you drop down after beating the #1 team in the nation? Thats crazy! Grundy10
UNC hasnt dropped down and wont unless a loss to UK follows Saturday. If they beat both, you can expect the 'heels to be a top 5 team come next week.
