Fort has been playing really good defense. Offense may have to change formations/schemes from time to time or personnel. Spider has done a great job on getting kids excited and out. Really liked the black and gold uniforms. The school colors.

What I was told the day I made that post was that he was indeed one of James's assistants. I also didn't go any further with it. We did retain 2 assistants from his staff as well as many others that either aren't paid or aren't teachers and are just paid per game, many of which don't have sons on the team, at least not yet. However, none of this is relevant, being how much respect the players have for Tiller and how much they all actually like him. Yes he is a first time HC, so the upcoming season will likely be a rocky one and possibly not the miracle season some may want. But the respect that he has for the boys and the respect he has from them will go far. I think Wythe County and Robbie Patton got it right. I just hope everyone is patient with him and gives him a chance to prove he can do the job and do it well. He has a great resume and deserves the chance.

It was just officially announced that Todd Tiller is the new head coach at Fort Chiswell. (And oddly enough, Patton led the push for him.) I have heard nothing but good about him and am looking forward to seeing where FC will go under his leadership.

It is supposed to officially be announced this Thursday. But all signs seem to point to him. I'm looking forward to see what he can do with them. But I'm betting he will do great. He already has a relationship with the team and has their respect, and that respect alone will take him far. I see great things again in the future of FC football.

One of the assistants that was there with James, before Hale graced us with his presence. They say the kids like him alot. And apparently, Patton had a say in it. I know this guy has no HC experience, but if the kids already respect him and he was assistant under James, as long as he takes what he learned under Hale as alot of what not to do, I think they will do well. Maybe not right out of the gate, but they have promise once again. I'm not disappointed, and I've talked to a couple of parents that aren't either. I think it's gonna be a good run :)

Don't get me wrong here guys, I BLEED black and gold. But I think you are ALL putting FC up a little high. Yes, I believe they will be a strong team this year. However, we are currently without a coach since Hale stepped down in April. As of now, the position is still posted and has yet to be filled. I'm just not sure they have enough time at this point to develop a good relationship with any coach they may get. Hale came in last year in March and you see what happened there. Alot of unknowns there right now.
