It'll be evident by the size of the crowd tomorrow night that everyone expects this to be a good game. Should be a standing room only in the gym when game time rolls around.

Took the bait... hook, line, and sinker haha get there by about 6:30 and you should be able to get you a decent seat. It may not even be crowded at all, but Im gonna go out on a limb and say i seriously doubt that happening.

Hope you all get the Ridgeview/Lebanon refs then!  Lol.  They pretty much let both teams away with aggravated assault.  Lebanon player horse collared our big man Will Ratliff to the floor and there was no call!  But, like I said, they let both teams away with some pretty rough stuff.

To me, Qualls is the one that does all the little things right that doesn't get mentioned. Very consistent player and is the only one that can find a soft spot in a zone defense. Been a pleasure to watch that kid play for 4 years...along with Barnes. If Qualls plays his normal game it takes alot of pressure off of the big 3 scorers.
 
And I agree with Ryan's last post. I think it could go either way really. Just hope both teams show up ready to play and put on a heck of a show.

I've been really sick this week and might could actually use the snow day as bad as that sounds.  Lol.
 
The Ridgeview Battle game I would like to make it to.  Even though I'm originally from Dickenson County, I live in Bristol now, so the Wolfpack coming out here actually helps me.  Lol.
 
But if I am still feeling this sick tomorrow, I'm probably not going and will just have to hope they win so I can go to Harry Fry Drive on Friday.  
 
As for predictions:
 
If this were Vegas, the top four girls seeds are what you would call "locks" to be playing Friday.  Anything beyond Friday is a crapshoot.  Most likely Ridgeview will play Central for the fourth time this season and Gate City and Union will play in the other semi.  If Central takes us for the third time, then I would almost expect Saturday's final to be relocated to Union (if Gate City wins) or to UVA-Wise (if Union wins.)
 
Boys, the only possible "upset" would be Ridgeview beating Battle in the first round.  Other than that, straightforward.  Gate City and Union meet again Saturday, pretty much a lock.  I use upset in quotes, because we should have been the third seed and have had a home game...
 
Definitely going to be fun to watch, especially the girls semis Friday.

I guess I would say Union and Honaker are probably the most physical teams ive seen this year. Barnette and Robinette bang around quite a bit in the paint and play strong.

Richlands doesn't play overly physical as well. More of slashers and three point shooters. 

Yea I can see why maybe Richlands football program would overshadow basketball haha just doesn't seem likely they would go that long without winning a region game in basketball at some point.  
The team y'all have definitely has the size to dominate if they can put the performances together. Hardly ever see high school teams with 3 guys that are 6'5 one that's 6'2,and one that's 6'0. They should tally up a win soon. Might get one this year.... Hard to tell with the way everyone has been playing in SWVA.

Not to change the direction of the convo ....but anyone have any idea what the dates might be for the start of the tournament? Is GC at Lebanon tonight the only makeup game left or is there more games that were waiting on?

Bob.................didn't you post something a few weeks ago about GC playing undisciplined? I agreed with you and said we do tend to play sloppy at times. River posts essentially the same thing, and somehow it is wrong. 
 
I don't know how many people who have posted on this thread were actually at the GC-Battle game. If you were not there, not sure how you can make any kind of assessment on how GC played. I was there. Does not matter if we scored 120 points or won by 37..........we still played sloppy at times. Was almost like an NBA All Star Game......ONLY in the sense that AT TIMES we seemed OK with letting Battle score and were more focused on getting the ball up the court quickly and trying to score. As River pointed out, we can get away with that against some teams on some nights down here. Will no doubt hurt us in the postseason. 
 
I can easily see us getting hot and winning a few games in the postseason. However, I can also easily see us losing the first game. Neither would surprise me.

I never whined and no excuses were made....what I said was polar opposite of that. Just spoke the truth about their lack of defense and consistency. It will get them beat if they don't work on it and that's just facts.
