i agree...it does happen alot.  I just for some reason figured he would at least ride the process out until say December or January and commit in the early part of the season.   I think its a great idea for kids to commit and get the process over with where they can focus on playing stress free with their teammates and focus on academics their final year. 
Judging by the visits and timely commitment dates set by some of the other recruits Rutgers were in on, it seems like Mac may have been a silent commit to RU already. 

I guess I'll have to head up to College Park and catch him when he comes through.

I'm really not sure how the brackets are set up to be honest.   I guess it's still possible....dont think the tournament ends until Sunday.   
 
and I've scratched my head on that one too. LaMelo is definitely a great player.....but to be a 5 star in basketball you have to be like top 15-20 in the nation and I just don't see it with him. I think its all about the hype of his brother and everything is why he's getting the nod.  i mean come on.....the dude took over 30 shots against S.C. Supreme in his 1 on 1 battle with Zion.  That's all that game was.....a showout between those 2 guys.  Both teams scored over 100 pts so there absolutely could not have been any defense.  And it's my opinion and I'll go ahead and lay it out there.....but LaMelo isn't in the same stratosphere as Zion Williamson.  He's a man among children and deserves his ranking in the Top 5.

Zac ain't as flashy but he'll attack the rim as well.  
 

Good showing is game 1 for Mac in Vegas. 9 points, 2 assist, and a steal in 16 mins. Plus this. 
 

That is somewhat surprising.  I will say 247 seems to be sliding somewhat in the recruiting game IMO, not related to this at all.

he gets a little more brass about him each time he's in the open court. hadn't ever seen him do a 360 even in warmups....i keep waiting for a between the legs slam from him in a game.  

Another negative to earlier start time is the players and fans having to fight the sun/scorching heat for an extra 30 mins.  If it got cold in October like it used to this wouldn't be an issue....but it stays in the 80s all the way into and usually through October now and will make for a miserably hot and schveaty experience for 3/4 of the season.  I'll go ahead and buy stocks in Monkey Butt powder now...SWVA is gonna be RIPE!

Congrats to this young man.  Very likely many more offers will follow.  Always awesome to see young men from the area doing well!!!

Most people over this way thought their dad was getting the head coaching job. School board wanted it to go to a teacher at the school so it turned into typical politics the teacher got it. So they're moving to Gate City. One of the boys will be a JR the other will be in the 9th. The JR was all conference as freshmen and sophomore but that's playing in the CRC it will be big step up in 2a and yalls conference. He was better as a freshmen broke the career 3pt record at Honaker in his Fr year almost made 100 3s.  Tanner Robinette probably deserves some of that credit for getting doubled and triple teamed.  Great shooter I'm sure he will fit in over there. The Fr would have played varsity at honaker this year and would have been a star over here playing 1A. It will be interesting to see how they do playing at GC. But we wish them the best no hard feelings. When they 1st made the announcement I thought the whole team would transfer but it sounds like everything has settled down some. 

huge offer!  I think Macs recruitment will blow up during the month of July when all the tournament's start back up.

I wasn't placing Gtown on a pedestal. I'm simply saying, Georgetown is in fact, major college basketball regardless of how many sweet 16s of late. No question, they are not now what they once were. Neither is Wake Forest, NC State, Indiana, Arkansas, Memphis or many others, but....they are considered by the average fan as major college basketball. Signing two top 100 players in the last 24 months is something ETSU, LaSalle, Murray State or Old Dominion can not and will not do. As for Georgetown, I am no fan and truly don't like their coach. But.....compared to his current offers, Georgetown is in fact....on a Pedestal.

Georgetown offered to Mac McClung. I don't care what any of you all say. That's a big time offer!

Thoughts and prayers sent up!  Heart Attacks/problems have hit my family hard over the years and even after a recovery the effects can linger on and snowball into other health concerns.  Hope this gentleman has a full recovery and can get back to being as close to 100% as he possibly can. 

I saw where Dean won the 3-point shooting contest at a recent camp. That is encouraging.

A diploma from Yale would a hell of a lot better than any other diplomas combined that has offered him...

Positive news for McClung.  Marquette, Arizona State, Cincinnati,  Utah, Rhode Island, and Rutgers have all called this week inquiring about Mac.  Seems these past 2 weeks have really helped him make some noise.

No sir....those are big time. It wasn't too long ago that Marquette was one of the elite teams in the nation.  They are still good.....but for several years were national title contenders.  Cinci and ASU are big time too.  Hope the big offers start to materialize....seems like he's starting to get traction.
