I've heard they are doing construction on a new field house at Battle and that water isn't draining well off the field
When the rain chills out for a bit I’ll get out of the car and take a look. 😂

Yes it is. Unfortunately, the forecast gives a good chance for a wet night too.
Don’t get me wrong, I love football in the rain, but we have Senior Night festivities tonight and my old lady HATES the rain lol. I’m sure I’ll hear all about it after we get off of the field 🤣
It doesn’t bother me. I don’t mind to get wet. It’s just that Union seems to struggle in the rain, so 👎🏼
I also like what #43 what he is doing, not sure about moving him. Thanks for the shout out you give #44, that Is my son he is rough around the edges, I think in time with Couch Turner with some off season programs he will be a lot more fundamentally better next year.
Props to you. It takes a lot for a parent to admit things like that sometimes, lol. During the play, #44 is one of the top 2 or 3 players on the entire team, but there’s a bit too much going on after the play for my taste at times. It’s good from time to time. It adds some swag and attitude to the team. But there are times when it does go over the edge a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on him because I’m incredibly happy to have a player with the potential like him at Union. Just pointing out a few things
Maybe Turner is waiting until the playoffs as to not give away some plays? Is he capable of that? Serious question.

He’s been known to play it a little close to his chest with play calling. Could be the case but that’s two big games (Ridgeview and Abingdon) that it’s been an issue IMO. I think our only chance to make a deep run in the playoffs is to open it up and use or weapons.
It’s wishful thinking to think that he’s saving something for the playoffs. The offensive playbook was opened up when we played Central, yet last night it was very, very basic. If in your two biggest games of the year (RV and Abingdon) you have a hard time opening it up, there’s no way it’ll happen in the win or go home playoffs.
Never seen them play this undisciplined and that goes back to their 1st season when they went 5-5.
Exactly. That’s one of many things going on that are uncharacteristic. Don’t get me wrong, I love the aggressiveness. But it’s a double edged sword that when is going bad, it’s awful.
I was surprised by all the cramps Union players dealt with. Adkins is the real deal...fast. Turner had a bad night passing. Abingdon looked fast on D, was that them or was it Union not executing? The counter play really worked for Union but I was also surprised by the lack of creativity from Union...I mean that as a compliment due to their reputation. Has this been a problem all season or just tonight?
Congrats to the Falcons. You can’t beat a team with 5-7 fumbles (I don’t know the exact number) and two bad snaps on punts that give them field position inside the 20. Abingdon executed when they needed to though, and you can’t take that away from them.
Union has some real issues going on. I’m sure everyone else’s opinion on these certain subjects are pretty close to mine.
Maybe WJHL will cover the battle of the unbeatens since it’s on a Thursday night. Not that two undefeated teams playing in week 10 is a big deal or anything. 😉
Doesn’t one team being favored by 20+ points take some of the wind out of its sails though? 😂
On another note: Abingdon and Union will still be in the rain and mud at Bullit Park on Friday. Those that are willing to brave the elements can come on out.
We had a couple games in 2014 that were back to back against Middlesboro and Lee High at the park that were both played in absolute downpours. My friends and I refer to them as “the rain game.” Here we go again... 😂
Weather is looking REALLY crappy right now. If it's as cold and wet as the forecast, I'm afraid it will keep people from coming out, possibly even more so due to it being televised, and thus lose the atmosphere that gives us such a great home field advantage. Maybe the weather will hold off. Hoping Thursday is still an option.
Fair point, but I don’t think the fans who actually create the atmosphere would miss it. Regardless of conditions. The fair weather fans, maybe..
Right there with you pal. I've stayed off the board since Friday because I just didn't want to talk about it. The folks on Facebook are trying to make the world think we lost because of the BS call on that TD pass where the guy was out of bounds. That's NOT why we lost. We came back from that and actually led by 10 at the end of 3. We did NOT finish and put the game out of reach when we had the opportunity. We did NOT get the ball to our other playmakers. Right now it's as if the the offensive coaches think there's one playmaker on this team, and as good as Adkins is, he simply can't do it all.
I just feel so bad for Sexton in all of this. He has to be wondering at this point why he transferred from Eastside.
I don’t wanna cast blame on any one player or anything like that, but do you think Sexton would have fumbled the ball with 6ish minutes to go, allowing Abingdon to get back in it? I don’t think so.
I’m just getting home from Abingdon so here are my very early thoughts. This game scares me. Abingdon is incredibly physical and has a couple very good running backs. I think union has improved very much both physically and schematically since the Ridgeview Game. On senior night at the park, I think the bears hold the Abingdon run game down just enough to get the W.
