Yeah, and apparently something big happened because Shelby Valley's coach quit and some of his players did as well after the Ridgeview game Friday night. Wished they could've at least waited till Saturday night and did that, so maybe they would've beat Central. I'm not a big fan of that tournament after this weekend... I was going to go Saturday, but I got word at the last minute that we weren't going to be playing Union because of the tournament organizers not wanting two district teams to play in a losers game. Well, easy fix... don't schedule three teams from one district to play in the tournament to start with, and two teams from the same district in Kentucky as well (Shelby Valley and East Ridge). So, instead we got placed in the 7th place game against an outmatched Graham team that got rolled by 45.

Well, they were apparently good enough to beat Ridgeview. Had a buzzer beater 3 at the end of regulation to send it to OT by an 8th grader.

Not that I go to church or anything, so it won't affect me, but those who do and want to go to the noon games can't be happy about that decision to keep them at noon.

@champ If you're looking for some good girls action, then the next 3 days at UVA-Wise should whet your appetite nicely. Ridgeview, Central, Union, Graham and Rye Cove from Virginia are in the tournament as well as Jenkins, Shelby Valley and East Ridge from Kentucky. I talked to someone from Pike Central who tells me East Ridge is pretty good and Shelby Valley is a legit state championship contender in Kentucky. Central is the defending champs in 2A, and they as well as Ridgeview should contend in 2A this year. Today's games: 4:00 p.m. Shelby Valley vs. Rye Cove 5:30 p.m. East Ridge vs. Ridgeview 7:00 p.m. Jenkins vs. Union 8:30 p.m. Wise Central vs. Graham

Yep, you had most of the Mountain 7 district represented there in your little section... Lol. You had me from Ridgeview, folks from Gate City, Lee High, Abingdon and Wise Central all there. Only school missing was Battle.

I haven't been to the Louisa, Vinton, Lynchburg or Chattanooga expansion stores yet, but have been to the rest. Lol.

Since nobody has mentioned them yet, I might as well do it. Ridgeview!!!! But then again, I sort of like being ignored and flying under the radar. :)

I have been to Maryville and Alcoa both in my time with Food City, when I used to have to go to all the stores. Wasn't quite sure where Greenback was though, but thought it was close to there.

Yes, but you can NOT leave between games. If you do, you must pay to re-enter. Sucks too, because with Riverheads playing in the 1A game, it will most likely FLY by leaving at the least a 2 hour break between games.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is Greenback in the same county as Alcoa and Maryville as well? If so, talk about a county full of crazed football fanatics.

Riverheads has all the intangibles going for them in this game... with Robert E. Lee also being there Saturday, all of Staunton will probably be there supporting the Gladiators. I hope Marion and especially Northwood fans can bury the hatchet for one week and all of Smyth County shows up in support for the spear slingers. They will need it. I'll be on the Chilhowie side Saturday cheering you on.
