  1. Not really a question, but a request... since Ryan is drawing heat from Stuarts Draft fans on Preps like the Four Horsemen did breaking Dusty's leg in the steel cage in the 80's, I want Ryan to deliver a classic heel wrestling promo on Stuarts Draft fans. Lol
  2. True, I was being selfish and looking at it from the "neutral fan" perspective and not the "person with a dog in the hunt" perspective. And I based that due to watching the TSSAA games and only the 2A game (of the ones I have watched so far) were competitive. The rest were blowouts. Take Greeneville for example. Everyone I talked to on Facebook said that when they beat Anderson County in the quarters, they could coast the rest of the way from there and they did.
  3. About the topic of the thread, I met @BearDawg @Union's hammer, @Unionguy_2017, @jarhead24219, @Ryan4VTand @BoBob from Appo on Saturday. Saw @redtiger as well, but I already knew him of course due to our days in the big Red Army. :) I sat on the Appo side because I needed to save 5 seats and didn't have any room over on the home side, and actually sat near Bo Bob who remembered me from 2 years ago in Salem. Thought that was pretty neat, he's a good dude. Quite a few "Richluns" fans on the Appo side as well, as noted by the Appomattox faithful. So, when Union played Abingdon, did something happen for Union to make Abingdon fans mad, other than the beatdown they got from Union? I sat near a few Abingdon fans and they were definitely NOT pulling for Union. So, just wondering...
  4. I loved how you posted this on the other site and instantly became Public Enemy #1. :D
  5. I don't think necessarily cross bracketing... maybe what I would like to see is when the 4 region winners are decided, seed them based on power points and do the semis that way. I think with that format, then Poquson would've came to Bullitt and RE Lee would've gone to Appo. I have no problem with the way they did it this year, but that's just a suggestion for if anything HAS to be changed for the future, and this scenario were proposed, that would get my vote.
  6. Do they keep them on demand somewhere or anything so I can go back and watch at my convenience?
  7. On the way over. Leaving Bristol.... NOW! :-)
  8. I'll be there. I'll be the one guy in the park wearing a bright teal San Jose Sharks jersey. Won't be hard to miss. Lol
  9. Exactly. UVa-Wise don't have near enough seats, especially on the visitor side to host a state title game. Mitchell could host it but it's technically in WV.
  10. Fox Tri Cities is showing the Greeneville game. All the others will be on the CW.
  11. The mindset of Galax is going to let Chilhowie win this game isn't it?
  12. Yes... and not being able to leave the stadium without paying to re-enter to go grab a bite to eat made it seem like that long wait between games was even longer.
  13. Yeah, Felty from Battle is at Emory now. He was their only decent player last year.
  14. So, it's a power points scale like football? Grayson didn't make it to region in volleyball, it was only the 4 from the Mountain 7 and 4 from the Southwest.
  15. Wow, this bracket was just released to the media today? I have had it in my inbox for at least 2 months now. Anyway, I would love to go to this tournament sometime, but am not going to miss the Arby's for it. I think a lot of other people in SWVA feel the same way. Maybe someday it will get moved to the week before Christmas.
  16. I think this question has been answered in other threads, but the gist of it is the almighty dollar, casinos and boobs. Lol
  17. On BVU, they come on the CW channel normally, 1004 I think it is. I am glad you posted this. I had a question that maybe you or @JDHoss could answer. I doubt I will get to go, but IF I can go down Friday to watch Greeneville, can you watch all 3 games that day by paying one price or do you have to leave the stadium between games, and how much is admission?
  18. I don't think Eastside should be there either, but at least they were gifted Tabernacle in their first game, which is a play in to the main draw. Perhaps they could win that one.
  19. I honestly have no idea. Abingdon qualified for the 3D region volleyball tournament, but I am not sure how. The 2D region volleyball tournament took 4 Mountain and 4 Southwest teams. Is that how basketball will work also? If so, how can Grayson County even qualify, since they're the only region D team in a primarily region C district?
  20. @rvtne215 helps me remember it during the podcasts by doing it... Lol
  21. No, but the 986 times the Union fight song is played during the game will. :D
  22. Ridgeview only lost two players from last year's team, only one of those being a starter. I very much expect them to be in the mix again this year with Central. I think Central lost at least one key player if not more, but Dotson doesn't ever rebuild, he just reloads. The wild card in the Mountain will be Abingdon. Not sure what kind of girls program they have, are they normally pretty good? Gate City eked out a 2 point win over Rye Cove in a benefit game on Saturday. That doesn't bode well for them. My old high school mate, Kory Bostic will have Union competitive also, I'm sure.
  23. Unless Tennessee High upsets Landstown in round 1, Gate City most likely has a loser's bracket with nothing but local teams with the exception of Webb. Gate City plays the winner/loser of Tennessee High and Landstown in their second game.
  24. Now now, we haven't went toe to toe in almost a year now, but hey! It won't be long till Ridgeview and Central girls meet up on the hardwood. Lol
