  1. Would've much rather Central had to take that long road trip to Grayson County than you guys, and I don't even have a dog in the race, but it is what it is.
  2. We know that, but he's a Radford guy who doesn't know squat about region D and was making predictions I believe. Lol
  3. Even if Virginia High pulls off a 1980 USA Hockey style upset and wins the SWD tournament? Also, it's not set in stone that Central will be the 2 seed out of the M7 yet. If Union beats them tonight, Union will be the 2 seed and Central will have to go to Grayson County.
  4. Didn't realize that, I just saw the MED seedings and seen that GW was #1 seed and Grayson was #2 seed. Why did they not have a one game playoff like everyone else does? I would've thought an #1 seed in region would've been on the line for a one game playoff winner. The Radford folks are basing their opinion on Gate City of what they saw at Chance Harman where they didn't beat Floyd County by as much as most people would figure. So, ever since then over on that other site, the Radford folks have been quite confident that they will beat Gate City if and when it happens.
  5. At higher seed supersite, so most likely UVA-Wise for Region D winner. Probably either Radford U or Salem Civic Center for Region C winner. If both number 1 seeds advance to the semis, I am not sure what determines who gets home court.
  6. LMMFAO! Gate City would beat Grayson by 20+! Graham would probably beat Grayson. Grayson didn't even win their district! George Wythe did. Lol Besides Grayson would play Gate City in the semis, meaning that loser is done. No way in HELL is Gate City letting their season end that early.
  7. Man, we gave Union everything we had for three quarters. I was sold we were going to pull the upset, but the boys had nothing left for the fourth and were done. Although, I would've loved to win and advance to regionals, it's probably good we didn't, so we wouldn't have to go to Grayson County most likely. I would rather not see Grayson County in ANY sport for awhile. Lol
  8. Highest finishing team from the regular season, so Battle. Therefore, Battle will travel to Graham in the Region D quarterfinals. Same situation with girls, as Gate City girls will also advance even though they lost Monday night. They will play at Virginia High in the Region D quarterfinals.
  9. He's a Radford homie. Gonna try to ride that Bobcat all the way to Richmond, but it's going to take a wrong turn and he's going to fall off somewhere around Tacoma Mountain.
  10. They will be... His are definitely incorrect or he's just trying to predict what they will be or something. Only matchups set in stone at this point are: M7 #4 John Battle at SWD #1 Graham in boys and M7 #4 Gate City at SWD #1 Virginia High in girls

  12. Haysi don't exist anymore to give them any competition in the BDD. Lol
  13. Well, apparently Union can redeem themselves and still get a region home game if they advance to the M7 finals... hope Ridgeview gives em hell on Tuesday though. Lol
  14. SWD/Grayson bids are by power points including tournament games I believe. M7 bids are by the semifinalists in district tournament apparently as they are playing consolation games in the M7 tournament. Since Abingdon is most likely to advance in the girls, not sure how the 4th M7 girls team will be selected.
  15. I wished Adkins of Ridgeview would give up basketball even though he has dunked twice in JV games this year. Now he's hurt his ankle and is on crutches. :(
  16. Devastating loss here as this possibly now sends Union on the road in first round of Region D to Grayson County or Graham.
  17. Unless Central loses to Abingdon tonight, there won't be a coin flip now. Lol
  18. Seen that both Dalton Mullins of Wise Central and Lane Scarbrough of John Battle signed with Carson Newman. Not D1 ball, but not bad either. Carson Newman's Twitter lists Mullins as QB which surprised me, figured they would need him more for defense.
  19. I was told the other night by a Ridgeview girls assistant that all ties in the actual district standings NOT for first place are decided by a coin flip as far as where you'll be seeded in the district tournament. Because in girls, if Central beats Abingdon then us and Abingdon are in the same boat where we'll be tied for second with them. If Abingdon beats Central, then they tie for first and have to play a one game playoff to decide the regular season champion.
  20. So, this leaves them tied for 2nd in the district correct? So, unless something wacky happens Friday, a coin flip will decide the 2 and 3 seeds. Don't think it will matter in the grand scheme of things, because both will get a first round home game and wind up playing each other in the semifinals, regardless, but still interesting.
  21. That and the Ridgeview game should be a #SCTop10 filler all by itself, I'm afraid.
  22. Won't hear me complain one bit tomorrow night. An L is an L whether it's by 2 points or 60 as may very well be the case tomorrow night. I just wonder if this exact same scenario won't play itself out come baseball season, just in reverse, because everyone will be whining about Abingdon running up the score in baseball.
  23. Seth Phillips (the good WR) is also pretty good hoopster too apparently. On a side note, seen he either got an offer or accepted an offer from UVa-Wise, so congrats go out to him.
  24. I would have liked to listen to you and Lloyd call that Grundy/Ridgeview game this past season, just to hear the "other" side call the game. WDIC does a good job for the most part, only thing I don't like is that when they have a timeout, they fail to mention the score and time when they go to break. I think that should be a necessity if you're doing radio.
  25. I was beginning to wonder how they managed to work that out since this past year was the 1st year in the 2 year rotation, but it seems like LB did play one of their opponents twice last season in the regular season. Northside maybe? So I guess that's how they were able to work it out. Anyways, that might be a fun game. Hope that falls on the Ridgeview bye week.
