Travis has NOT used the T yet this year but I bet we see it come Thursday, I am sure this is a revenge game for the GMEN. They will crowd the line and Da Bears will settle for the 3 or 4 yards on each play, because we know that no ball means no Mr Bradshaw scoring
Richlands should consider slowing the game down, limit the GMEN touches, it seems to frustrate them. The offense should use every second of the play clock and use that big line and QB to run the ball. Play keep away from Mr Bradshaw and make him defend 20 + play drives on defense, it seems to work for Union
At Radford, we've had some cool games over the years that I enjoyed traveling to. Clintwood, Honaker, Lebanon, Patrick Henry all come to mind. In 97 or 98, we had a game against P.Valley down in Big Stone Gap at Bullitt Park and lost 28-10 I thought we might have been the best 2A team in the state that year. We only had one other loss besides that playoff game to Powell Valley, and that other loss was against.........Powell Valley at Powell Valley in regular season by a score of 21-3. From 1992 to about 1998, we played P. Valley 8 times and went 0-8.

Yeah I was all for the 1-16 matchups until we had to go to Dan River and Appomattox. Way too much traveling. Since we've become Union though no trips have been worse than the Clarke Co trip though
Oh my, now that was a drive, over the hills and through the woods. Clarke had a good field but no stands, well not enough for Union. We were outplayed that day , our d coach was clueless about their offense, we’re we a better team…..not that day, In the end it was toooo far to travel for a SEMI final game, right at 380 miles and 6 hours
I would think that the upcoming election for Governor and the new President has a thing or two to do with the schools still being open, we have pulled our grandkids out and gone to the remote learning After the holiday break and election we will be closed state wide. We are playing with our children’s lives right now, vaccines or not , mask or not,kids are dying, and the smaller ones and special need kids/ young adults don’t know how to take care of themselves
I was just wondering how things would be handled if there is a makeup date due to team-2 having COVID then say on the make up date team 1 has COVID issues with no way to make another date due to the end of the season. I read that if teams cannot agree to a make up date team that doesn’t have issues gets a “W” while the other team does not get a loss. This seems fair until you think about the make up date with the team that did not have issues during the original date but now they do. I know it’s no one’s fault but just wondering how the powers that be in the VHSL would deal with it
I was 17 when I graduated and didn't turn 18 until late September. My parents were against it. I was working for my dad, and more than that, I believe he thought that if I joined the Marines and got out and saw the world, my days in the coalfields would have been over except for visiting. He was probably right. After a few months of living at home, a steady full time job and no bills, my interest in the military waned. I still regret it sometimes though.
Trust me, after being to Beirut and back twice,JAPAN SPAIN,OKINAWA,ECT ECT ECT, you really thank GOD that you were born in this part of the U S A, our culture our lifestyle is something that you become to appreciate after seeing the rest of the world.

Devin Lester was a fine athlete, but Bradshaw is being recruited by Notre Dame for a reason. He makes a huge difference for Graham.
No argument about that here, I was hoping he would go to Bluefield, I believe Tony’s boys will be fired up after last year. It will be keep away ball again, limit Mr Bradshaws touches and put pressure on your QB

Like I said it a choice, just like wearing a seat belt, or back in the days smallpox was killing , or poliovirus crippled children. People die everyday wearing a seatbelt in crashes ….but more people die without them. It’s your choice but again your God given rights ENDS when another’s begins , so if you or anyone plan on staying at how, no COVID money ….have at it, yeah the young do better but now toddlers are dying . I may be in the minority but I think if you have the shot or shots you get to come, if not stay your butt at home, it’s a choice but your rights only go as far as someone else’s begin. I bet if they linked all that free money to being vaccinated there would be less people not getting the shot, ….yes I had my two shots back in Feb. , no side effects at all

SO, i was reading the morning that KEVIN SAUNDERS (FORMER JJ KELLY, GRETNA COACH)had parted ways with GILMER HIGH SCHOOL as football coach.He has a reputation for rebuilding former powerhouse programs including GA. PEBBLEBROOKE H.S (6A). I havent seen anything about a new school or if he wants to coach again.RICHLANDS could be well served to contact this coach as he is a proven winner, but $$$$$ may be an issue, as he was making 6 figures to coach in GA.
Union fully expects kids to come, they will be welcomed. Baseball (little league) has so many Lee county kids now , and our peanut program has been too notch since the 70s . They have more $$$ support in big stone gap , Big stone has more in common with Lee county than we do the upper end of wise county. I have heard that maybe Central may loose a player or two to Union, they want to go to state and the Bears are looking good for a run . Time will tell
