Agree, hope it's not true. I hate seeing any player get hurt especially a season ending injury. He is a great player and athlete.

He got hurt I was told by a grandparent of another Radford student (not a FB player) but don't know details of what kind of injury. He said it was bad. It's really not a confirmation since it's secondhand information just a rumor I guess.

Lester was QB against Giles & Blevins came in some. His accuracy is probably same as Lester. He's not as fast. He throw a TD. IMO they'll keep rotating them for now. I could be wrong.

Union folks, did y'all ever hear how many penalty yards from game at LC? I can't remember exactly but I think Graham had around 125 penalty yards when we played Bluefield. I'm hoping penalities are few Friday night and we see a great game between two great teams.

I don't believe we can pinpoint one thing as the cause. IMO, dwindling population in SWVA which has lead to lower enrollments and smaller talent pool, feeder programs are not producing lots of numbers in some places or lacking in good foundational teaching/playimg, fear of injury, focused on a single sport , etc. I've spoken to several boys and asked why they don't play. I overwhelming get one of two answers, I play travel ball (baseball, basjetball) or I don't want to get hurt.

Blevins kid did well with only a couple practices with the GMen nder his belt. He doesn't have Lester's speed but I believe he can match him at least in passing. I don't think the offense has shown us what their true potential is either. Defense was a little off at least in first half but getting Kastner back will help. I don't think it will be a cakewalk for Union or Graham. It could come down to the wire. Penalties could shift the momentum of the game. Graham.has had someTDs called back this year, two last night for holding. If Graham plays smart disciplined football, they win IMO. If not, Union may pull out the win.

I'd say it could go either way but I give a slight advantage to Richlands since they're playing at home. Lucky is the team that can secure a victory at Ernie Hicks even in a down year.

I think the most unwise decision Mance made in 2016 was getting rid of Snake , messed with team's mojo. He'd probably tell you that himself now. With that said, Mance is a great coach and he stays at Richlands for all eternity if he wants. I'd like to see him step up to college level somewhere when he decides to retire from HS. I think he could be an asset to programs like UVA-Wise, Bluefield College or elsewhere. He's a definite VHSL future Hall of Famer. As for rest of this season, I'd say he'll figure it out. By end of season, no one will want to meet them in first round of playoffs.

Edwards has great ball sense...defense held Spartans well after starting off a bit too sloppy. It will help to have Kastner back next week.

Started out sloppy but got it together. GMen cannot afford to be sloppy against Union next week. Hats off to Giles for sticking with it and getting several 1st downs, just couldn't capitalize.
