Word on the street is Graham coaching staff has added some Blue Tornado blood. Should definitely be an interesting season. Tazewell may surprise some people. They held Richlands till 4th quarter last year, ran out of steam. Hope you prediction is correct.

Looking forward to seeing Richlands & Graham this year too. If GMen can make adjustments and improvements at line this year, could be contenders again & go further. That was a weak area for them in games I saw. Cam Allen turned out to be a great call though by Coach Palmer.

We all know Greg Mance has a better recruiting system than most SWVA colleges & universities! Just give him top honors & be done with it...I hear he's giving tours of the field house this week and lining up apartment leases & jobs for parents, lol.

McClung is obviously the better shooter but I agree defensely Martin is better. Scoring McClung wins every time but all around aspects offensively & defensively, I think Martin is a more rounded player. Others can agree to disagree. With that said, hope GC can bring home the title.

Those girls have played travel ball together for years. They should go all the way if their pitcher is healthy. They need her to win! Mickey Mouse could coach them they're so good from all those years of playing together before they hit varsity level softball in HS.

McClung scored what 50 points last year in close game with R.E. Lee? I say , he plays to win! If Gate City can play top notch D, they'll win.

McClung was phenomenal on offense tonight! He's the reason GC won in combination with Graham unforced turnovers. Martin was the best allnaround player on court even if Graham lost. He is strong on offense & defense. Kudos to GC & good luck in the finals! Hopefully, McClung & crew can beat R.E. Lee this go around and bring title back to SWVA.

Sounds like the GC/Graham game , only this time instead of GC getting frustrated , it was their opponent. It would be nice to see a rematch between GC/Graham.

Mooresville vs Richlands, people are about crazy. There's no comparison. Even if Wells hadn't gone to NC, do people honestly think he'd leave Blacksburg for Richlands? Think Coach Davis would want to move from Defensive Coordinator to Head Coach when Mance leaves?

What's the saying, offense wins games, defense wins championships. It was Graham's defense that made McClung work hard for those 39 points he scored. I worry about Graham if Baker isn't back but I heard he's practiced past couple days. Hopefully, he's a 100% by Saturday or dang near close to it. I hope they're all close games. I feel a little cheated when I go to tournaments games and see a blow out.

Any predictions on how Region D teams will fair this weekend? Thoughts?

It was a hard foul and he was hurting a lot. It was definitely hard to watch. I was taken aback that a kid is obviously really hurt and so much ruckus was going on in stands.

Not that I recall, he looked to be hurt pretty bad.

Doubt Tony would be leaving Graham 😂 yeah, I know you were being facetious. I look for Graham to have another strong season. Cam Allen was the best call Tony made last year even though some criticized him at first.

Long story , short...Gate City was outplayed and out coached. McClung is impressive on offense but one or two guys cannot get it done against an equally good team that played outstanding defense and out rebounded you. Congratulations GMen, very proud of you all! Carlock is a class act & so are his players!

There was nothing classy about that loss from the stands to not going out on court for trophy presentation. How a team loses says way more about them than the W/L column.

Anyone know the bracket yet for boys & girls in SWC? Could be wrong but thinking there could have been a two or three way tie for last in girls. With the exception of Graham boys, I think other teams boys & girls will get clobbered in the regions.

True but Richlands if I'm not mistaken has four of their five starters back. It will be interesting to see where they each land in the final conference rankings.

Richlands is currently in last place in conference. They're not competitive at all this year in basketball. Softball they should be though, the majority of girls have played travel ball together for years.
