Looks like Abingdon would become a better fit for the SWD instead of the M7, travel time would be slightly less wouldn't it? That would balance the districts as far as district scheduling goes.
-
Did Eastside not make the playoffs?
-
Sounds like Union and Central don't even need to show up to play.
-
Not sure I've seen anyone inside the Mountain 7 say that Union was bad, all that talk has been coming from elsewhere. They will show up to play.

Graham quarantined?
-
6th play date should be listed as week 6.
-
I'm confused, isn't this week 5 as some teams are playing their 5th game? The post topic says Week 4.

Backyard brawl! Tazewell Vs. Richlands
Weatherman replied to bulldog05-CO2017's topic in SWVA Football
Will this Tazewell victory most likely knock Richlands out of the playoffs? -
Anybody remember that year when E&H beat UVA-Wise (CVC) with that fake punt from their own 11 yard line? Two memorable games in that series for sure, with that one and the punt return for the win for UVA-W at Wise. I for one will be glad when they take this "cold war" rivalry back to the field when E&H joins the SAC.

How many days of practice did Battle get for this game after coming out of quarantine?

Pulaski has an idea on how to get around the 250 limitation.
Weatherman replied to Optimal62's topic in SWVA Football
I would suspect if the 250 limit does change by playoff time, you could see more people outside the fences at games than inside the stadium. -
I didn't expect this game to be this close.
-
With more players on football teams than basketball teams, there is a much greater chance of someone testing positive. I'd be surprised if there aren't several cancellations throughout the season due to positive cases and quarantines.
-
Some ugly football played tonight just about everywhere, but that's to be expected. Weather has been horrible for practice, and no scrimmages.
-
While allowing 250 sounds like it will help, it will also cause problems because not everyone can get in that needs to get in. I'm not talking about the general fans, but family. Every student that participates, whether it be a player, manager, cheerleader, band member, or whatever, will not likely be able to get two people into the games, and tough decisions will have to be made by administrators. These decisions are not popular with everyone, and cause hard feelings. This pandemic has caused a tremendous amount of stress among us all, and having to decide who can attend and who can't is only going to add more stress in my opinion. It still amazes me how it is acceptable to have 400 people indoors in a Walmart store and only allow 250 spectators outdoors at a football game.

Advantage goes to East Rockingham
-
I can't see any pressure being on Radford, it's just another day at the office for them. Not saying they will win, but feeling pressure won't be an issue in my opinion.

This: "This pandemic has deprived many of the structure needed to succeed."

Nice job, would like to see more teams do something like this. Even add in some weight room clips, masks and all. Throw in a little practice in the snow.

Two years in a row that the SWD #1 suffered a 20-point loss to a M7 #2 team in the region semi-finals.
-
As long as Graham continues to win, they will be at home. Since it was the Southwest District's turn to host the tournament, the SW #1 would host M7 #1 if they both advance to the finals.
-
I think all district and region games will be single games at the higher seed.

Yeah, he retired in Virginia and took a job in Kentucky. The guy was talking about what Palmer had done while he was there, and I was trying not to discredit him.
-
Palmer is a good coach no doubt. Patrick Henry's talent base, like a lot of 1A schools, runs in cycles, but they tend to go from boom to bust quicker than most.
-
Do you have evidence otherwise?
