So ridgeview isn't good? Central is just bad? Can't have both.
i never said we were that good. we have an oustanding back, but we def. dont throw the ball enough. we are a very solid team but we did not play that well friday night. also i didnt say central was bad, i said they arent as good as they think they are
Part of Eastsides issue was their defensive alignment. 7 and 8 man defensive front with 3 linebackers is not a defense you run in the middle of the field on first down. Really not many places that defense is good. No safety. If the running back breaks through the first level, he only has to make a move on one and he's gone. They have good players and they are very tough. And really they didnt have bad team speed. Very poor defensive scheme for a team with Central's speed.
i always like reading your take on things. you sound like you would make a good head coach. we drove over to the game because we played on friday. I would have to agree with the above statement. Central is fast and better, and i think they will be the better team tonight. i don't think they can match our strength next week, but will be a tuff out for some teams this year. us, abingdon, and union are the class of the mountain 7 and i feel like we will get abingdon at home this year but we will have to wait and see. the only thing i worry about with us is play calling
just got more info, another line an kicker left too! Something major must be going on for players to just walk away from something they have loved an sweated over for years.
A Graham athlete at the track meet last night handed Trenton Adkins the Grahams head coaches number and said coach wants you to give him a call. Take that for what its worth but sounds like possible recruiting to me
Lol. Priorities man. Yes, I will be primarily at D-B events moving forward because my girlfriend's son goes to school and is a student athlete there. It's very possible also that in a few years, I will be a Letcher Central fan, since that is where my daughter will eventually be going to high school.
I will still be at Ridgeview events when it doesn't conflict with anything else. I didn't tuck my tail and run. 🙂
I learned last week that a key Ridgeview lineman transferred to Central and transferred back less than a week later... so I am guessing that grass wasn't greener on the hill above the Walmart?

So Jamie Hackney I'm assuming is an assistant coach on a team that won a state championship, so therefore that championships gives him the credentials to be a coach that would have won a state championship at Lee? Let's not even say state championship at Lee, but by him not being the guy on a team that won a state championship that automatically makes him as someone who is going to be a great coach? I don't even know the guy he may very well be a great guy and coach but this is far fetched philosophy.
Whether you deem that officiating has gotten worse or better (most would argue at the upper levels even it has gotten much worse in recent years) adjusting the structure of the AOA was the proper thing to do. Its probably the best thing for the schools also in reality.
Could you please explain your thoughts on how it is better for the school? I'm not disagreeing just curious.
Let's just consolidate all the Wise County schools and be done with it.
Now, now. If you did that all those Wise County adults wouldn't be able to hate on other kids. Well wait they probably still would, they would just hate on the kids at the one school that they didn't really even know. Kind of like now except with more schools. Never mind, make it one school. haha
