  1. I'm not sure what, "the greatest team in the league," means. If talking about the greatest team In Region D for 2019, we will find out. Regardless of what you feel about Graham's schedule, all of the other teams in Region D are playing in a tournament against each other and the regular season schedule is in the past. The Region D tournament is right now. Let's see what happens.
  2. Same same. I understand Poca is pretty good and still undefeated, but just not on the level of Bluefield and Fairmont. Semifinal winner is overwhelming favorite in the title game. Go Beavers!
  3. And that statement right there, shows the knowledge level of being tucked in a little tiny corner of far SWVA. You see a passing air attack wide open offense, and to you, it looks like the greatest High School Football team to every play in the area, lol. I submit to you, Graham wouldn't lose by 30 plus points to Pikeville.
  4. Appo IS ABSOLUTELY in the same league as Pikeville. Who in the world are you kidding. 3 out of 4 AA titles with a chance to make it 4 out of 5 in Virginia. Yes, they are very much in the same league as Pikeville. The problem for so many SWVA football teams is, they don't see a true spread air attack offense very often, and when they do (like Ridgeview vs Pikeville), the hinges come off. Another example is how close Paintsvile played Pikeville, and Union about beating Paintsville. It's because a team like Paintsville has seen that type of offense and is used to it.
  5. Im a Graham fan and disagree. We aren't the same as Richland's and Union who has played them a couple of times in the past 4-5 years. Graham is athletic and a history of doing pretty dang good in state semi games against the Lynchburg area schools over the years.. If Graham gets that far and wins the region , I can assure you there is no fear for Appo. Graham would go to Appo expecting to win, not to keep it close or upset them, but to beat the shit out of them, and if Graham is on its game, they will run Appo right out of its own stadium.
  6. Exactly, it shows he knows little about Region C and the level of play Appo is playing and the level of play that Radford is not playing. Radford will lose to Gretna this coming weekend. You won't have to worry about Radford beating Appo. And if you do get fortunate enough to host Appo, it's going to be Pikeville KY all over again.
  7. The reason the entire thread is useless is because there really is no such thing as districts anymore in High School Football. There is meaning as to who you have to play, but district champions no longer automatically make the playoffs. They are absolutely meaningless in High School Football.
  8. I agree, but it's also tough to be a solid team even once, and Union is a solid football team.
  9. I will take Narrows by 2 touchdowns.
  10. I'll say it's a very close game and Union will not go quietly. I think the game is decided by 7 pts or less either way. I hope we can win, but I'm worried about this one.
  11. I'm watching this one and if I didn't know any better, Man's players look like Hillbillies.
  12. No doubt, they will be tough and still a good football team at the 2A level, but they won't have the talent to compete for a state title. Richland's, Bluefield, and Union, and Tazewell will be favored over Graham, if there is such a thing as "favorites". Well, Calpreps matchups could be used. Giles figures to be better next year and that's a game Graham could potentially lose. There is just one thing though. Graham likely has not just 2 Div 1 athletes this year in Lester and Meadows, but it's overwhelmingly likely the Bradshaw/Turner kid who is a sophomore this year will be Div 1. He will be a major problem next year for opponents. He's a problem this year, but will be insanely dangerous next year.
  13. Dear God bro. I even capitalized the word potential so my statement wouldn't be taken as me saying they "will" win the title in 21,22, and 23, lol. And still, you just couldn't contain yourself. Read the post again....I take that back, read the post for the first time and look up the word potential in the dictionary. Graham in 2021,22, and maybe 23 will be talented enough as in, having the potential to win a title. That's not saying they will. They may be 5-5 all three years, but the talent will be there.
  14. Yep, Graham is a 6-4 team next year. There's a chance they could be 5-5. I will say 5-5 at worst and 7-3 at best. But.........there is hope. Absolutely loaded from 2021 through at least 2023 and state championship POTENTIAL good in 2021 and 2022.
  15. 4 teams per region make the playoffs, problem solved. No 2A team in Virginia seeded 5th or lower has ever won a state title since Virginia expanded from 3 levels of play to 6 levels of play back in 1986. I would wager that for all teams statewide for all 6 levels 1A through 6A, the number of teams winning state titles that were 5th seed or worse has not happened more than 10 times. I know Appy at 5-5 and even Salem a couple of years back were 5-5 and I imagine these teams were 5th seed or lower, but still it's the exception to the rule. This is why 4 teams making the playoffs per region is perfect. Yes, it would mean Richland's would be staying home this year, but again, how likely are they to win a state title this year? It's incredibly unlikely. Now, will the VHSL change and subtract to 6 or 4 teams? No chance.
  16. That's a bunch of starters for sure. Tazewell will beat Graham next year. I had them at 7-3 this year with losses to Bluefield, Graham, and Richland's. Next year, I got em at 8-2. Only one dudes pure guess though.
  17. The stats on Lester would be misleading. He has played three complete games out of 10 and for the rest of them, just about 1 qtr. If memory serves me correctly, he played all of Bluefield, Union which is 8 qtrs. Played 3 qtrs against Giles and 2 qtrs against Princeton and the other 6 games, all 1 qtr. He's played out of 40 quarters or 10 games, a total of approximately 19 quarters. Let's round that to 20 quarters which is literally a total of about 5 full games. Lester has really, on the field, played about 1/2 of a regular season. Take all the QBs in discussion in this thread and take each QBs numbers and divide those numbers by the total quarters played and I promise you, Lester comes out on top in both rushing and passing by a lot.
  18. Lester is BY FAR, not even a little bit, the best High School QB in SWVA regardless of what he's projected as by the recruiting services. He's very accurate and an incredible athlete and runner. He can take over a game.because of that Div 1 athletisicm.
  19. Same here. I root for Tazewell and Richland's every game unless playing Graham and Bluefield. Bluefield High is my most hated team (I mean that), but only for game one when playing Graham. After the Graham game, they become almost like Graham to me and I root for them every game, regardless of the stadium announcer nudging and influencing the officials with the passive-aggressive sarcasm to make calls go in favor of the Beavers.
  20. Warrenton VA is the home of Fauquier High, and located in Fauquier County.. It's where former Bluefield Beavers Coach John Chimara (pardon the spelling) coached after leaving Bluefield. Warren County High is located in Front Royal, VA, and Warren County borders Fauquier County, VA.
