  1. Booker and Bradshaw or Turner. not sure which he goes by, both ran the ball well against us in the regular season. I like the way Graham utilizes all of their capable playmakers. It's what most of us have been screaming for Union to do. Throw Dales, Bauer and Ray in there, also obviously Lester and the Gmen have tons of weapons. But these Bears aren't going to lie down. Can't wait til Friday.
  2. Glad we got the 6 but we all know that pass should have been picked. Brody is a great kid and he's done well this year. Wish the staff would let him throw some different routes to our receivers other than just outs. Him and Rasnick hooked up on a beautiful seam pattern against Letcher and that hasn't been ran at all since. Union has the tools to beat Graham, just depends on which Union team shows up Friday night. Hopefully it's the team that went to Bluefield and took names. I'd even love to have the Union team that we saw in the first half of Ridgeview game. Time to sack up.
  3. Graham’s offensive line seems to have finally found their footing and seem to be controlling the game better than they were back in early September. Unions secondary has struggled giving up big plays. Gibson has struggled mightily this last month of the season and it doesn’t help our offensive front has struggled blocking. A lot of things to factor in to this game. Hopefully Union finds a way to move the ball consistently, control the T.O.P. and get off of the field on third downs.
  4. It has went on all season. Its a shame.
  5. And Mason Polier single handily won that football game tonight. He completely took over in the second half and late in the fourth quarter. He wasn't going to let Union lose tonight. 43 will hopefully be never worn again once he's done with it.
  6. That secondary for Union is going to have to tighten up. They've had some take aways but they're giving up way too many big plays. There were three of four times tonight when Reed just threw the ball up and a gate city receiver came down with it. If i'm that defensive coordinator and secondaries coach, I would be ashamed of they way they had the boys prepared.
  7. If you have watched Union at all this season then you had to know this game was going to be close. Doesn't shock me at all. Union better play keep away next week and STOP WITH THE DUMB PENALTIES. But that's not going to happen
  8. Come out and set the tone early!!!
  9. Wow. Thats awesome. Dogs may make some noise next year.
  10. I think they will still be tough next season.
  11. Eastside is loaded again and I think they will continue to do so. Twin Springs has a couple freshmen this season that are going to raise some brows and a new coach. Dockery is now an assistant at Wise Central and I think they will be tough. Twin Springs and Central open the season against each other and that should be fun since Twin Springs sent Dockery out the door. I think the Mountain 7 will be really competitive. Going to be a fun year of hoops in SWVA.
  12. Ridgeview will win this by however much they wish. Hopefully all players can come out healthy.
  13. Wish Tazewell could have stayed healthy. To finish with 7 wins and have to wade through all the injuries they did is pretty impressive. Hopefully they return a majority of their kids and can be competitive against next season. I think Graham wins this one. They're hot right now. Going to be a tough out for anybody.
  14. Thomas Walker has been hit with some injuries down the stretch and seem like they've lost their confidence. Chilhowie by 30.
  15. Hopefully the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are cut down in the playoffs. This team would have beaten Paintsville if it wasnt for a couple of critical penalties and it's almost cost them in a few other games.
  16. May be wrong but I'm taking Eastside to beat Holston. Eastside has Garrett Whited back and their quarterback has been playing well and can be a factor will his arms and legs.
  17. Gate City has the talent. They do have a couple big uglies up front in Kert Gibson and Logan Davidson and two big backs in Calhoun and Tomlinson to go along with some other scat backs like Jenkins and Mack. Blanton is a tough runner and Reed is capable of making plays at quarterback. Gate City has normally played us tough with the exception of a few games
  18. Starting tailbacks Lomax #3 and Guerrant #24. Both also play linebacker. Lomax is out for the season with a broken leg suffered against Paintsville and Guerrant is absolutely battered. Hes a senior so he is gutting out a shoulder injury that would have normally ended anybody else's season. He's tough as nails but he hasn't been much of a factor in the running game. Couple of our offensive linemen are dealing with some knicks and bruises but are playing through. Glad a lot of those guys got much needed rest last week against Battle.
  19. I know that. But how did we get our other pieces involved? I think everyone would like to see us run some different things to get all of these other kids involved in the offense. But the coaches coach, I understand that.
  20. Yes, one game a year in my opinion. I'd love to see us play Gate City there one year and then a non district opponent the next. Not play Gate City there every year but one year they travel to us have the game at Appy, then two years later back at Bullitt, then so on. I think that would be really fun.
  21. Twin Springs has tried to schedule Lebanon from what I heard and Lebanon wouldn't do it. That's a good game for both teams. Just about thirty minutes apart. They also tried to schedule Grundy but it fell through.
  22. The area that's overlooked is what Central does on first down. If they can get 5-6 yards on first down on a consistent basis, they're going to be hard to stop. Thats exactly what they done against Union and we couldn't get off the field on those third and 2, third and 3's. Central also hit us for a 60 yard touchdown on third and 30 or third and 40 after a couple sacks and penalties but poor tackling on the part of Union on that play. Richlands will have to contain that three headed monster they have in the backfield. Those backs are quick and physical. They pull those quick little guards and hit your backers right in the mouth every single play. I think Richlands wins a close one but I will not be shocked at all to see Central win.
  23. no disrespect but what did we do differently? It looked the same to me, we just made more chunk plays Friday than we did the past few weeks. There were a couple more kids got carries sure, but that seems to be the only thing to me that was different. Horton and CJ got carries a carry or two against Abingdon but was nice to see them get 5-7 carries the other night. Along with Honeycutt
