I hope to see before I die, the time come that we Graham fans get off the back of the people that coach our teams, say nothing when good can't be said, and provide examples that instill respect for the staffs. When that happens, we will accomplish much more than out scoring opponents, and isn't that the goal of athletics at this level?
Seen them both. Richlands prepares well and executes as practiced. Bluefield is stupid fast. Not only that, they have 4 real running threats on every play when you consider the QB and FB. The wildcard is the Richlands passing game. Given all that, I'm going 45-21 Bluefield.
I will add this. Due to the miniature bleachers I was able to hear a lot of things. If you scream, and I mean scream, at the Graham staff, and everybody knows they can hear you, then you embarrass yourself beyond words. I respect our coaches more than ever after listening the stuff I heard tonight. Sure, they are struggling to win on the field right now, but I respect them as people.
No brother, it's Graham's first live action on grass this year that keeps them under 40. It's the crappy stands that keep me from seeing half those points scored.
Graham picks off 3 passes and wins this, 35-28. The crappy field keeps them under 40 (and the crappy stands keeps me wondering what's going on). The G-Men are just sick with athleticism and they gain confidence every week going forward.
First off, a thank you to both teams for representing yourselves well. As I recall, there were no personal fouls called, which unusual for a rivalry. Bluefield is as fast as advertised. They run a good running game and use Coppola very efficiently. If I am Bluefield I go to work on the pass defense and developing the passing game. I am very excited to see where these teams go. I would love to see Bluefield run the table. The potential for Graham is there. I expect to see them continue to grow into the most exciting team since 2001. Probably the best two deep quarterback situation since the early '80's.
I feel I must drop my opinion on the score as some will not be happy about it. This was any bodies game at the half. The stage was set then for the track meet that followed. I think Bluefield knew then that their best defense was a high scoring offense. Once the throttle was floored, it was hard for either team to let up. I liked it. Sure, Bluefield went for two a few times late, but that was the nature of this one.
Who is the new Graham coach?
