  1. Agree with this, I honestly think Clemson played one of their most complete games of the year against VT. Plus VT played by far their flattest game of the year next to the Duke game. Everyone can say without Watkins that Clemson is average, I say without Ellington running the ball good, they are an average team, he didn't play the GT game. VT did great middle season with makin points out of 75% of there possessions, lately not so much. I love VT, and pray they win or else the 800 I spent on the ACCCG will be a waste, what is the avg. D-line weight??
  2. There's only one stat that nobody has mentioned in this thread yet and if it was my apology, but a key stat for the season is that VT ranks 6th nationally for time of possession, one way to keep from allowing Wilson on the field where at anytime can make a highlight reel and turn the game around or Thomas being on a hot seat, UVA will have to be able to run the ball and milk the clock, my prediction-whichever team has more rushing yards wins this one, biased or unbiased, I am a hokie fan and since VT has out rushed it's opponent in all but two games this year, I go with VT 31 UVA 21, VT taking the game middle way through the 4th as UVA's front 5,7, or 8, however many they use, begin to wear down. Also predict nearly 25,000 hokie fans will have heart attacks Saturday as some do not expect a close game as it WILL be.
  3. That didn't take long, sold in 20 mins, thanks and god bless!
  4. It has been a while since getting on here most of you veteran members know me and know now I am a police officer for Richlands. That being said I have a personal handgun for sale if anyone is interested, it is a Glock .40 caliber sub- compact pistol with crimson trace laser grips, pinky extender on handle (removable if you wish), 150 rounds, 3 mags, and the case it came in. I'm guessing when I say I've shot maybe two hundred rounds through it, 4 fifty round qualifier courses for off- duty carry, any who if anyone is interested pm me and we talk price!
  5. Havent been on here in a long time but I as well want to say it was sad that Friday was/could be the last time Grundy and Richlands will be playing each other in football as that legacy and rivalry has come to an end. I always loved watching and playing against Grundy because you knew it was going to be a 4 quarter ballgame. It sucks the enrollments in this end of the state have dropped to now cause this rivalry to end but i guess it was bound to happen, who knows though, Richland may possibly be making its way to Single A in years to come. Respect to all Grundy fans, players, and coaches and wish them the best and honestly hope Richlands doesnt have to play Grundy again, b/c i know personally how hard it is to play a team twice in one year (Ex. Richlands vs Graham 2005 regoin championship game) which came down to final possession to determine game as earlier in the year we beat graham 30-0 so people saying would put MORE points on Grundy second go around, on turf, and at home- i may regret saying this but you're crazy. I would go as far as saying the difference would at least be two td's or less. And one last thing, as far as "if we didnt have the big creek boyz or lockhart that richlands wouldnt and may not have won this year or be undefeated", i will say this, there are true blue players on that team that are not transfers and that have played in the Richlands system for many of years if not there whole life. With or without the transfers, Richlands WOULD be as good of a team and still be undefeated, maybe not win every game by 50 pts, maybe only by 1 point, but fight is in these boyz and never doubt that. Again, Good luck golden wave and represent SWVA to Tunstal on Friday. If we see you in 3 weeks then it will be a terrific game. Congrats on a great season.
  6. if they did play them teams would they get any point from them team to help them get to the playoffs
  7. I got to make it up to the game, of course it's too early to say or make any predictions, but first play of the game the QB Johnson scrambled and juked his way all the way for a TD had the coaches not blown the whistle and called it back just to save breath lol. The other Johnson RB took one or two all the way and WR Strong had a TD catch of about 50 yards, the kid from Tazewell, last name starts with a P cant think of his name but he looked good, line on both sides of the ball were big but young still, should be fun again this year to watch and the Johnsons too will be a highlight reel it looks like, defense wasnt all there, it will come b/c they got better just in that game as it progressed, as usuall. More will show and will be able to tell come friday in the gridorama @ Bluefield. Who does R-lands play in the gridorama anyways?? Anyone know??
  8. You said it right in the 4th sentence. Heart, for anyone in SWD to play well with the rest of the state in football they have to have a tremendous amount of heart and willpower and a mind set that they can win the game. Not just this game, but any game. I think the heart of the Blues will squirk out a win against an awsome Brookville team, not taking any credit away from Brookville b/c they have had a tremendous season so far but after game 10, the season doesnt matter, both teams are 2-0 again and both will kill for the 3rd and 4th. Can't wait for Saturday. GIT-R-DUN Blues and represent SWVA as you have done in the past few years!!!

  10. Penticostal here, born a presbyterian though, and Happy Easter, again!
  11. Amen brother, Happy Easter to all. This is my first Easter Sunday that i have missed church and thats because i gotta work!
  12. They will have to sooner or later. I see in the future us getting cut off from the middle east oil industry and HAVING to do the preserve drilling up north, it only makes sense, there will be one day, it might be the day i die or ill already be dead, but one day the price for a barrel of gas is going to be so insane we will finally HAVE to say no, if we dont, lower and middle class people will no longer be able to afford to have oil furnaces and such. i mean seriously $3.05 for a gallon of oil, and that is cheap anyhwere else in the U.S. especially in the middle of the country and out west oil is ridiciolous for home heating and for diesel. Oh but the common sense men know nothing to the higher powered people in the white house i guess.
  13. I would not recomend anyone getting into the oil or gas business, unless you own texaco-chevron,exxon,or marathon, you are screwed. And i dont mean own one store, i mean own a district of one of those, my family owns and runs Reynolds Oil and Railroad Ave. Chevron in Richlands, and im tellin ya, there is no money in that, everyone thinks we are making a killing but its the people higher than us that is making the damn money. I would not suggest ANYONE get into the business, we have to compete with the likes of cargo, shell, and exxon mainly here in town and Chevron is the only "main" branded gas there is in town, we make anywhere from 2-5 cents a gallon, THAT SUX, we can sell gas for the same price as the other guys and they will back anwhere from 12-18 cents a gallon to our 2-5. So if you are thinking bout it, then stop thinking about it, unless you wants to make just as much as you put into it and make no proffit, no the OIl business is a different story.
  14. [ QUOTE ] he should have never left Louisville. [/ QUOTE ] Agree

  16. Good luck to Gate City, Clintwood, and Richlands in there Championship games tomorrow. Show the rest of the state once again what SWVA football is about and bring home the Trophy, all 3 of ya. It would be nice to go 3-0 this year. Well really 4-0 if you county the Beavers. But good luck and safe travels to all going to the State games tomorrow. Ill be rooting for SWVA. GO BLUES!!!
  17. [ QUOTE ] your stupid.mayo is what kept that game close.he dam near beat yall last year alone.idiot.i was at the game and mayo was clearly the best athlete on the field. [/ QUOTE ] I was there too, and why did HE keep that game close?...wat did he do that game???...he threw the ball a couple times and half of those were incomplete or intercepted. Ya know, i guess i am an idiot for even replying to you.
  18. It all starts up front, on both sides of the ball. And right now our O-line and D-line is gelled more right now and looks the best it has all season, as i said just now in another post, if we can do wat we've done the past 3-4 weeks and keep momentum on our side, we will be just fine.
  19. [ QUOTE ] monticello has one loss by one point in overtime to a very good DIV.4 courtland team.make no mistake monticello is for real.and will put some points on Richlands.question is,hows Richlands gonna respond if they get behind by a couple TDs?we will find out how good they are then. [/ QUOTE ] Well i can remember back last year when we were suppose to be ran over by a guy named Marcus Mayo(QB from Rockbridge Co.)...and he was pretty much shut down(running the ball) the whole game. Trust me, the kid is going to show some moves and who knows, might run right over us, but i doubt it, the D the past few years has been able to control the run game pretty decent and to good backs too. Prolly nothing to the caliber of this kid, but my money is on our D. But who knows, we will see on saturday, i hope we stay focused, thats the only thing that matter. If we(Richlands) can do what we've done the past 3-4 weeks, i think we will be just fine.
  20. Richlands lost 2 games by 8 points, thats not too bad either.
  21. Yeap sure will, im just guessing but id say pregame prolly starts around 11 or 11:15 on the radio.
  22. I would like to see a VT-OSU game though
  23. [ QUOTE ] Ohio State - National Champs. they should have matched up VT vs. WVU Hawaii vs. Kansas would have been a better game... GA vs. OK would have been a better match up as well... So this is why we just need a playoff system...because this year, there IS NO TRUE CHAMPION based on this CRAP! That said...Ohio State would wipe the floor with any team in the top 10 right now. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you Lance!
  24. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Understand perfectly and glad you know where im comin from and yea i still think Auburn got screwed that year too. How do u go undefeated in the SEC an get lleft out of the NC, ahhhhhh many wonders about the BCS, but i honestly dont think now that its all the computers faults. its the human polls that mess it up, is that not why Auburn was left out that year too?? [/ QUOTE ] If memory serves me I think you are correct. Heck I can't even remember what year it was, but I believe you're right. [/ QUOTE ] Bryan Randall was QB at Tech then, and i think it was in 2004, the first year tech was in the ACC and won the conference outright.
