Who is the most historically underachieving team in SWVA?
My obvious answer is VHS given the athletes and facilities available and the two playoffs wins in 13 years
Also was going to ask a school consolidation question but trumpet1988 beat me to it haha
I would love to see Giles and James Monroe (WV) play every season. I think that would be a great interstate rivalry. Galax vs Mt Airy (NC) Grundy vs Pikeville (KY) All of these should be natural rivalries that state lines should not get in the way of. In my opinion.
Nope, Martinsville-Grundy. Grundy can't stop Z Hairston, I believe he scored 6 TDs this past Friday, could do the same or more against Grundy. Would not be surprised to see Martinsville put up 60 or more on the scoreboard even with a 2nd half running clock, unless Martinsville's coach calls the dogs off very early.
Very well could be that way, regardless I'm happy were there, these boys have came a long way, and I look forward to watching most of them push for #20 this winter.
Grundy can't defend the deep pass. Didn't last year on Rose Ridge, didn't this year next to the 'Y'.
Exactly. Ridgeview went through the gauntlet of the Mountain and had tough non conference games against Paintsville and Marion. The difference showed on the field last week.
Easyyy there. I do think Ridgeview @ Honaker will be a good game but as far as extreme SWVA goes, Union @ John Battle is more of the "game of the week" type to me. I will more than likely be heading up to Exit 7 to watch since GC is open.
As far as making the playoffs, that actually is the game of the week, basically win and you're in for either team.

Grundy should have Eastside or Castlewood, correct?
