The best thing that can happen to all the NFHS cameras is a meth head steals them all for copper.

I saw this one. One that stands out for me was Brannon Breeding in 1992 state semifinals vs Salem for 46 carries and 229 (?) yards.

Ahmad Bradshaw vs Vic Hall-led Gretna playoffs. I don’t recall stats, but he did everything except drive the team bus.

There may be more impressive performances, but I’m limited to what I witnessed in person.

Clements vs Union on NFHS also ranks up there.

It's not football, but former Appalachia Bulldog Ollan Cassell deserves a spot in the SWVA HOF for winning a gold medal in the 4x100 relay in Tokyo in 1964, as well as a couple of golds and a silver in the Pan Am games.

Steve Dye for Richlands, 1994 v. Lee High. I'm pretty sure it's still the school record: 384 passing yards and 6 TDs, no INTs, in a 48-45 loss that was redeemed two weeks later in the Region IV semifinals, 66-23.

In the case of Riggs and coaches of those era, maybe adjust their win totals due to the fact that they didn't coach as many games.

The Mayor picks up right where he left off!
It's Municipal Stadium, home of the Mount Hope Mustangs.
It's the WV version of the Stone Castle
    Not so fun fact:
A 2020 storm knocked over approximately 100 feet of the exterior stone wall

    I agree with these minimums.
I have the information on the coaching records for the SWVA (VA) coaches, which I'll post as soon as I can find where I saved it. There's probably about 12 or so who'd meet the minimums.
The Va coaches would probably include: Harry Fry, Nick Colobro, Greg Mance, Tom Turner, Phil Robbins, Ralph Cummins, Glynn Carlock, Steve Ragsdale, Norm Lineburg, Joel Hicks, maybe Burrhead Bradley
Surprisingly Jim Riggs wouldn't have a win total that high

I'd considered featuring a few more stadiums outside the SWVA Sports footprint. If there's interest, we can expand the scope and see where it takes us.

That is definately Lynch. Just like Gary, WV, the town was owned by U. S. Steel. There were a ffive times between 1937 and 1942 when the coal company financed games between the two schools.

I don't have the official count, but I think it's safe to say the winner of the Jr Frosty* is City of Raven!
    Congratulations, Mayor!

*Redeemable only at the Marion Wendy's on any 5th Tuesday, excluding all solstice and equinox months and Canadian holidays

I never meant for a simple trivia game about a few stadiums to turn into a full-on research project. But my love for local sports and Central Appalachian history pulled me in deeper. Before I knew it, I was diving down internet rabbit holes and old archives, chasing down these forgotten stadiums.
Every year, our knowledge of these fields of glory fades a little more. As time marches on, the stories behind these fields risk being forgotten. I hope, in some small way, this project helps keep a piece of that history alive before it disappears for good.
In just under 40 days, we visited 100 stadiums across 18 counties, 6 cities, and 3 states—ranging from humble cow pastures with rickety bleachers to multi-million-dollar palaces of sport. Our stops included everything from Virginia’s oldest active high school field in Saltville to the newest at Graham. Regardless of size, age, or condition, the pride and passion felt by players and fans was always the same.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the journey and maybe learned something new along the way.
    I know I did.
